How did European exploration and colonization of the Americas affect society?

Frantz Fanon “There is not occupation of territory on the one hand and independence of

disfigured, in the hope of a final destruction. Under these conditions, the individual's breathing is

an observed, an occupied breathing. It is a combat breathing.” Colonization has been around for

over hundreds of years by the European nations using them for trade and raw materials. Some

countries like the Spanish would have given them no control or freedom at all, but when the

British colonizes America they were giving freedom and government for each state. When the

British gave them a government, it good for their colonies but unfortunately the Native

Americans had to the price. The European’s colonization did affect America by not only had

created a prosperous government but it came with the unfortunate mistreatment of the native

Americans.

Because of European’s colonization of America, it had created not only prosperous but

also one of the best government within the nations. Britain first came to America on 1607 and

created their first settlement there which was a new town called Jamestown, Virginia. Then in

the late 1600s to early 1700s they had made the 13 colonies for profit and religious refuge.

The British let the colonies self-govern themselves unlike other countries giving that freedom to

their colonies. How the colonies gained and earned that freedom was from the traditions of the

English. Since the 1200s, the English had a policy called Parliament what had role that shaped
England’s affairs and slowly but drastically it has given all of the English many legal rights.

What makes a huge difference between the British and the French is that French had a

representative assembly that advised the royal government while the British appointed

governments by the king to see the colonial affairs and the English Monarchs were in controlled.

Later though the American have demanded freedom from the British and even considered to call

themselves “freeborn Englishmen” to protect their freedom. But thanks to the British America

has and became on the best government in the world because of the guide and freedom from the

British.

Even though we had a great government, the natives American had to suffer cause of the

European’s colonization. For example, they will have the same behavior as when the Spanish

took over the Aztec empire. They Aztec and the Incan tribes has lost over 90% over there

population. When the Spanish took over they promise religion and education for Native

Americans but instead they were forced into hard labor and treated like slaves. When the Spanish

took over the Aztec Empire in the 1500s to expand but the empire but treated and but decreased

the Natives populations while doing so. So, when the countries were claiming the Americas, the

French treated the Indians with respect but the British did not treat them respect but took their

land and kill them off. When the British were taking more land, the Natives Americans were not

giving up and kept clashing with the settlers. Year by year goes by and the British were always

victorious and moved the Indians slowly westward away from the originals homes. The

European Colonization effect on the Indians will always have the enormous decreased and it will

always be remember as a lose for the Native Americans.

Even though the U.S has an extraordinary government what they did to the Native

American was and always will be unacceptable.Yes, the Britain gave U.S government freedom
and help them created the thirteen colonies. They also just had to send government to watch over

them instead of taking over them completely. But at the same time the way the Indians was

treated was and will be unforgivable throughout history. Th way these too pieces would fit is that

they were both guided by the treated by the European government. But the main difference was

how they were differently treated and not given the same respect. The Native Americans have

been viewed as animals that only want violence and the Europeans will bring war to the Indians

and show them not mercy. So, what the main comparison between these two points are that

government set notable example of leadership. As for the Europeans that did disrespect of the

Indians it affect American in a bad way because it made the Americans paint the Native

Americans like enemies.

European’s colonization will ever be forever in making of America into a great country.

European setting up the U.S government was a vital role for America because it help set up a

good system. But the Europeans also treated the Native American which had a negative impact

on them. Colonization can create a prosperous and a outstanding country but at the same time it

can create racism and hatred against other nations.
