MICHAEL
and all the HOLY ANGELS

Novena Prayer
V: O all ye Holy Angels, who contemplate unceasingly the uncreated
beauty of the Divinity, in company with our ever glorious Queen,
R: We present and offer to you this novena not only as a means of
obtaining favors
V: (here specify your request), but also as a reparation for our past
ingratitude, and that of all men.
R: Deign to accept it, O amiable Spirits, in union with the love and
devotion of such saints as were especially devout to you, and obtain
for us the grace to spend this life fervently that it may be the
commencement of that blessed life which we hope to live forever
with you in heaven.
V: Let us pray. O God, who with wonderful order has regulated the functions of angels and men,
grant that those who always assist before Thy throne in heaven may defend our lives here on
earth, through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity
of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.
R: Amen.

V: St. Michael, the Archangel,

R: Defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God
rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast
into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
V: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
R: As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
V: O most glorious Prince, Michael, the Archangel,
R: Be mindful of us, here and everywhere, and always pray to the Son of God for us.
V: I will praise Thee, O God, in the sight of Thy Angels.
R: I will adore Thee in Thy holy Temple and I will confess Thy Name.
V: Let us pray. O God, Who hast in an admirable order disposed the ministry of angels and of
men, grant in Thy goodness that our life on earth may be protected by those who in heaven
always assist before Thy throne ready to do Thy will. Through Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
R: Amen.

First Day:
V: Ardent Seraphim, ye who dwell in the eternal home of love,
R: Unceasingly absorbed in the rays of the Sun of Justice, we beg ye in virtue of the Divine Blood, to
enkindle in our hearts the holy fire with which ye are consumed.
Second Day:
V: Bright Cherubim, ye who are allowed a deeper insight into God's secrets,
R: Dispel the darkness of our souls, and in virtue of the Divine Blood, give that supernatural light to our
eyes that will enable us to understand the truths of salvation.

Third Day:
V: Sublime Thrones, dazzling in thy beauty,
R: Upon whom rests the Almighty and who convey His commands to the inferior Angels, obtain for us
in virtue of the Divine Blood, peace with God, with our neighbor and with ourselves.
Fourth Day:
V: Supreme Dominations, ye who have authority over all the Angelic Choirs,
R: And are charged with the execution of God's orders, rule over our minds and hearts, and in virtue of
the Divine Blood, help us to know and faithfully to accomplish the will of God.
Fifth Day:
V: Invincible Powers, whose mission it is to remove the obstacles to the Divine will,
R: And to overcome its enemies, defend us against attacks of the world, the flesh and the devil, and in
virtue of the Divine Blood, render us victorious in our combats against this triple power.
Sixth Day:
V: Heavenly Virtues, who watch over the harmony of the material creation,
R: Ye whose name signifies "Strength," have pity on our weakness, and obtain for us in virtue of the
Divine Blood, the grace to bear with patience the trials of this life.
Seventh Day:
V: Sovereign Principalities, ye who are the Princes of Nations,
R: We beseech ye to guard our Country effectively, that it may realize God's designs in its regard. Govern
also our souls and our bodies, and in virtue of the Divine Blood, obtain that we may attain eternal life.
Eighth Day:
V: Most noble Archangels, ye who, under the command of St. Michael, guard and protect the
Holy Church,
R: Deign to deliver her from internal and external enemies. Watch over the Holy Father, as well as over
all the children of the Immaculate of Spouse of Christ, and in virtue of the Divine Blood, obtain for us
the grace to live and die in the Faith, Hope and Charity of the Holy Church, so that we may be
eternally united with its august Head, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Ninth Day:
V: Most holy Angels, ye whose zeal for the interest of God, wherever they need to be defended,
R: Carries ye through the universe more rapidly than lightning, protect His cause in our souls, and in
virtue of the Divine Blood, obtain for us the signal grace of final perseverance.
