Title: Article syndication

Submitted by: Aron Date Submitted: Sep 11, 2011 Participants: 0UagKqrNolWU

Equipment: Article syndication is the pesrcos of submitting your written articles to different content websites. The purpose of doing this is to gain
exposure for yourself and your business. You gain exposure when a webmaster likes your article and publishes it on their website. In doing so the
webmaster is giving you free publicity by presenting you as an authority on the subject of your article. The article will generally get placed on a higher
traffic webpage on the site where the visitors can read and learn from it. It is required by the content publishing company that the webmaster leave your
Author Bio' information attached to the article, which will effectively advertise you and your chosen website. This non-reciprocal link from your published
article to your website serves multiple purposes. One it makes your website more popular in the eyes of the Google algorithm and two it drives targeted
traffic to your website. The traffic is targeted because the person who just read your article is clicking on your link; this is done generally because he/she
is interested in you and/or your business. If done effectively, article writing and syndication can do wonders for your business. The usefulness of articles
doesn’t stop at the benefits listed above. If you tailor your article correctly you can have it reach top rankings in Google and create multiple instant
sales. To achieve this you must learn a few things about Google and article syndication. If you don’t already know, the new Google algorithm Orion
highly favors content over any other forms of advertising. The days of doorway pages, splash pages and landing pages are over, so naturally content
driven websites and articles will begin to make their way to the top of the Google rankings. The key to getting your article to the top is by targeting certain
keyword phrases. You don’t want to target the most used and most popular keyword phrases, instead you want to target less used keyword phrases.
What you want to do is look for phrases that only have from 500 1500 results in Google. (*) Attract more traffic to it, once you get some loyal visitors, you
can go low with your marketing budget as well. (*) Offer unique and interesting content to your readers.how about putting a small competition at your
website, and put a small prize for the WINNER .

Title: Charades!!!

Listing of Leadership Activities and Group Games http://schlags.com/paul/leadership/listing1zx4ja8ch8.php
Submitted by: Jenny Boualavong Date Submitted: Apr 28, 2014 Participants: all

Equipment: Everyone in the classroom a good attitude smiles all around enthusiasm

Instructions:

Everyone loves charades! At least at my family functions everyone does. The leadership activity or group game I will have everyone participate in will be
like the traditional game of charades. This will require everyone to participate. Since I only have a limit of four minutes I plan to take volunteers to come
up and "play" out the words or phrases without talking. I will split the class exactly in half and there will be two teams. So within the four minutes we will
try to fit as many rounds as possible into play. A coin flip will determine which team will be up to play first. If there is a tie after four minutes there will be an
"act off" where both teams vote who they want to represent them. The two will then act out the same word and the first team who guesses the word or
phrase will win! There may be a prize so try your best and let's have fun! School is almost over and we made it through this long year. Congrats to all
graduates!

Title: Human Maze

Submitted by: Robert Liston Date Submitted: Apr 24, 2014 Participants: All

Equipment: The equipment needed for this activity is only a blind fold and everything else is in the classroom.

Instructions:

Two random people in the class will be selected randomly. One will be blind folded and the other the coach. Everybody else in the class is going to help
participate as well. The two randomly selected people will go out in the hallway and make up code for movement through the maze without saying the
words "straight", "left", "right", "reverse" and etc. So the word can be anything like for example straight can be "Sally" and left can be "Larry". So while the
people in the hall are deciding on what they using as their code the rest of the class is creating the maze for the person blindfolded. Anything can be used
in the classroom as long as there is a path for them to at least make it to the end. The rest of the people can make up the maze by sitting on the ground,
kneeling, standing as long as they are frozen and don't make a sound. The goal is to have the blindfolded person successfully make it to the end of the
maze without touching anything in the way, people, desks, chairs and etc, or else they are out and the coach switches with the person blindfolded. The
code needs to be pretty specific to the point where the person at the end of the maze has to sit down cleanly in a chair without missing it and falling

Title: Minefield

Submitted by: Wrigley Marquith Date Submitted: Apr 16, 2014 Participants: All

Equipment: Duct Tape, Blind folds

Instructions:

My Leadership Activity is a game called minefield. In minefield there is an area of the floor that has “mines†or pieces of duct tape. Half of the class
will be “walkers†and the other half of the class will be “spottersâ€. Each walker is paired up with one spotter, but the walker will not be able to
see the spotter because the walker is blindfolded. The spotter will give out commands to his or her walker and must only use hearing to navigate the
minefield. The spotter is not allowed to use the walkers name, the walker must recognize the voice of the spotter and then do what the spotter tells them.
If the walker steps on a mine, they are out of the game. If you make it all the way through the minefield the spotter and the walker will then switch roles
and try to navigate the minefield once again. Whichever team makes it the farthest will win a prize.

Title: LCR

Submitted by: Terry McMahon Date Submitted: Mar 31, 2014 Participants: 30+

Equipment: LCR dice and Chips

Instructions:

The game of LCR is a dice game that i learned at family parties while i was younger. It is a great activity because it is competitive but everyone has an
even shot because it is all luck. I will divide the classroom into four groups, each player from every group will start the game with 3 chips. Each player
goes one by one rolling dice for the amount of chips that they have up to three. The dice will come up with an L, R, C, or a Dot. The L means you send a
chip for each L to the left, the R means you send a chip for each R to the right, the C means that you send a chip for each C into the center, (these now
become the pot) and the Dot means that you get to keep the amount of chips for each dot. Throughout the game players will be sending chips into the
middle and you cannot roll unless you have chips in front of you. It will then come down to one player having the last chip in his or her possession and he
or she must roll a dot in order to win the pot. The four winners will face off in a sudden death game in the end. The winner will receive a candy prize. This
activity will help in the developmental wheel in respects to communication and it is a fun game that will have everyone interested and involved.

the person ask for a psychical description. In the end bring in the person and see how off the description was or how accurate it was. A great activity to

Title: Are You?

Submitted by: Austin Johnson Date Submitted: Mar 24, 2014 Participants: 34

Equipment: Blindfolds

Instructions:

Words that are not names are inserted into a hat and randomly drawn. Each person is only allowed to write one word on their piece of paper. Whatever
word is randomly picked from the hat will be the word used in the game. (For example, if the chosen word is DOG then that will be the word used).
Everyone will be blindfolded, then one designated person will choose one other person who will be referred to as the word drawn from the hat. After
being chosen, that person will have their blindfold removed while everyone else keeps theirs on. Everyone will then stand up and start walking around.
Everytime someone bumps into someone else they must shake hands and one person will ask, "Are you (word that was chosen)?" If the other person
responds they must say, "No I am not (word that was chosen)" and the two will walk away from each other. If a blindfolded person bumps into the non
blindfolded person, the question is asked again and the two must shake hands, but the non blindfolded person cannot reply. Once this happens, the
non-blind folded person takes the blindfold off the other person and they lock arms, both now having the word that was chosen from the hat. Now if any
blindfolded person bumps into either of those two, then the action is repeated. The game ends when everyone loses their blindfolds and becomes a part
of the chain.

Title: Finding Nemo

Submitted by: Rebecca Gonner Date Submitted: Mar 20, 2014 Participants: 12 or more

Equipment: One stuffed clown fish resembling Nemo (or anything else that you can throw that won't bounce or roll away).

Instructions:

Divide the group into two teams. One team (team A) is the “Dory.†The other team (team B) is the “Merlin.†Before starting each team should
designate a single "Merlin," preferably someone loud. • Team A starts by throwing the "Nemo" anywhere in the designated play area. The Nemo must
be allowed to land on the ground. • Once the Nemo has been thrown, team B runs toward it and forms a single file line behind it. The previously
designated "Merlin" needs to be at the end of the line. The first person in line picks up the Nemo and passes it over his or her head to the person directly
behind, who passes it backwards through his or her legs. This over-under pattern continues until the Nemo has reached the Merlin at the end of the line
and the Merlin yells “Nemo!†• Meanwhile, team A forms a circle and whoever threw the Nemo runs around the circle and back to his or her spot.
Then the person to their left goes and so on. Each time a team member makes it back to their original position, the team scores one point. Sticking with
the Nemo theme, this team is made up of Dorys because she's forgetful and swims around in circles. • As soon as team B yells “Nemo!,†team A
stops counting runs. Only full revolutions count as runs. • Now team B is the "Dory", and they begin by throwing the Nemo anywhere in the area of
play. Team A (the "Merlin" now) runs to it and gets in a single file line with their "Merlin" at the end, passing it over and under to their Merlin, while Team B

are cumulative from inning to inning. Play as many innings as seems to fit with the group! (or that fit within the allotted time)

activity with saying any letter of the alphabet. Without talking you will work as a team to form the letter of the alphabet. This can also be used with
different types of shapes and numbers. After a few times, you can change the activity by having one person being the communicator and when given the
letter, that person will be able to talk to the group and tell them where to go to make that letter. If time permitted, if you really want a challenge, you can try
this activity with your eyes closed. With everyone knowing their surroundings, they can be able to try a letter while closing their eyes but not speaking.

Title: Capture the Spoons

Submitted by: David Reichard Date Submitted: Mar 19, 2014 Participants: 4-34

Equipment: A deck of cards and spoons are needed.

Instructions:

Each player gets 4 cards to start off with, then spoons are placed on table always one less than the amount of players. The rest of the deck is placed
next to one of the players and they start drawing one card at a time. The player can only have four cards in hand so what ever card the player does not
need gets passed on to the next player in circle. When the player comes across a card they do want they take another card from their hand, that is not
needed and pass it on. The objective of the game is to get all four of the same number, this includes jacks queens and so on. Remember just the same
number not suite. When a player has all four of the same number they grab a spoon, the remaining spoons need to be grabbed by the other players as
soon as the person with all four cards grabs it, immediately. Basically the players need to be paying close attention because the player with no spoon at
the end is out.

hallway and throw their planes at the same time. I will judge to see which plane goes the farthest. The plane that goes the farthest will remain in
competition while the other plane is eliminated. The last plane remaining wins the first set of lanyards. Teams that are eliminated or waiting to throw their
planes will think off callsigns for themselves. At the end of the competition I will call on each group and ask what each partners' callsign is. Dr Schlag will

your hands like you would turn a steering wheel and saying "Vroom". The second motion and sound are the turning of your hands in the opposite
direction and saying "Screech" and when you use "screech it flips direction in which the "vroom" was going. Now one person starts of by picking a
direction to start with and then turns their hands and says "vroom" in that direction and then it goes around the circle and people decided whether to use
"vroom" or to use "screech" to mix things up a bit. The goal is to just see how long you can make each round last.

Title: Easy Mac to Easy Mac

Submitted by: Farrell Lewis Date Submitted: Feb 15, 2014 Participants: Whole Class

Equipment: Apples to Apples game

Instructions:

Leader will get up and explain these instructions before play: Class will be broken into groups according to the color shirt they are wearing (red shirts with
red shirts, blue with blue, etc.). If groups are uneven or larger (over 8) groups will be broken down in a way to get groups even and around 5 or 6 people
as deemed by the leader. Groups will be given a stack of response cards and a smaller stack of prompt cards. All players will pick up 6 response cards to
have in their hand and play with. Each round a prompt card will be laid down and everyone except for the judge that round will will play a card face down
in response to the prompt card. The judge of the first round will be decided by the group. Once everyone plays a response card, the judge will read out
loud all response cards and pick what card best fits the prompt card. The player who played the winning card will be declared the winner that round and
keep the prompt card and then will be the judge next round. All response cards will be discarded in a discard pile, except for the winning card which will
be kept with the prompt card in case of a tie) Continue until time (7 minutes) is complete. (If groups run out of either response or prompt cards, the leader
will switch cards out with the other groups so no one repeats cards) The player in the class with the most winning rounds (with the most prompt cards)
will win the price (Easy Mac hence the name of the activity). If there is a tie, each player that is in the lead for the win must pick what response and
prompt card makes the best match and then Dr. Schlag will pick which match is the best and that player will win.

Submitted by: Miriam Brabham Date Submitted: Feb 11, 2014 Participants: 36

Equipment: Clues, hiding places, prize

Instructions:

I will tell the class they are to complete a scavenger hunt that nothing will be off the property of horrbin hall but that they might have to go outside. I will
then show them there prize a bag of candy wrapped in a bike lock with a combination code 4 digits. They can not get the candy until they complete the
hunt and unlock it. I will then divide them into teams by having them divide by birthday. once the teams are drawn they will get the fist clue: The hunt is
on! I'm so close but far away. people rest here from day to day. I'm right outside the door, I have four legs that sit on the floor. If you're right I'm on the left.
Once they found the next clue it will read: you found me where people are lazy the next place you look you will think me kinda crazy. People say I'm hard
to climb but fall down me all the time. I'm not indoors but easy to find. Next clue: Burr that was cold cold cold! But I'm only one of the elements so I'm told.
The next is hot hot hot one of me each classroom has got. To use me pull the arm up top. Three sprays or more and its out for sure! Next clue: You are
the Best! You're the champ of this quest! The next place you'll find me is under one of these desks! Next clue: The taste of victory is so sweet! But how
much candy can you eat? The code that you seek has already been told it is written on the cards you hold. Each card will have a number on it that is part
of the code that opens the lock to the candy some words will be highlighted or under lined to help them with the clues. The team that wins will get first
pick of the candy but there will be enough for everyone to get some should they want it.

Title: Helium Hula Hoop

Submitted by: Miriah Anderson Date Submitted: Feb 10, 2014 Participants: 8+ (Whole class)

Equipment: Hula hoop and reward. A half inch PVC pipe or roll of duct tape can also be used instead of the hula hoop.

Instructions:

First, have the class break into groups of 8-12. To maximize the difficulty level, groups should be made up of individuals who vary in height. After groups
are made; each group needs to get in a circle. Ask participants to give you thumbs up with both hands then stick out their pointer fingers, and finally tuck
their thumbs back down. Have them keep fingers at waist level. Explain both pointer fingers but remain in contact with the hula hoop; and the hula hoop
must rest on top of the fingers (no gripping, finger curling). Hands can stay with their palms facing inwards or upwards. Lay hula hoop on top of
group’s fingers. Now the group must work together to get the hula hoop to the floor. The hoop will rise instantly – caused by ripples of upward
pressure. This activity can also be done with a ½ inch PVC pipe with the line of people alternating which side of the stick they stand on. Sometimes
when you have an older age group that was able to work together well and efficiently to complete task, you can repeat the task but with a roll of duct tape
and only one finger. This activity is meant to teach teamwork. It helps to have a reward for the participants, in this case I have candy and fake kid tattoos.

Sit your group in a circle. The 1st person starts by saying the word "zip". One person says it after another around the circle... zip, zip ,zip, zip etc. Now tell
the players that the aim is for no one to be able to see their teeth. They must cover them with their lips at all times. (pull them over your teeth as you
would if you were rubbing in lipstick. Now go around the circle again saying zip. Then explain to the players that they can change the direction that zip is
going by saying zonk which makes it bounce around again the other way. A person is out if any other player sees their teeth. The accuser must show this
by shouting teeth teeth, bending their arm up so their hand touches their shoulder and slapping their elbow. AT ALL TIMES TEETH MUST BE
COVERED. People who are caught are out and become watchers. The watchers are allowed to walk around and see if any teeth are showing. If they see
any teeth they will still do the same process as they did while they were in the game. When only 5 people are left have them stick out their tongues while
keeping their teeth hidden. Keep playing the game. Eventually you should get a winner.

participants will not be allowed to speak so they will have to learn different ways of communicating with each other.

Submitted by: John Cronin Date Submitted: Jan 29, 2014 Participants: Entire class (like 35 people I think)

Equipment: Nothing but a good attitude and willingness to participate.

Instructions:

The entire class is formed into one large, single-file line, and a phrase is whispered into the ear of the first person in line by the judge (myself in this
case). The first person in line then turns to next person in line and whispers the phrase into their ear. This process is repeated until the phrase reaches
the end of the line. The last person in line then repeats what they were told to see how whatever they were told matches up to the original phrase. The
fun comes in when everyone sees how much the message has deviated from its original form while it passed down the line. That is the breakdown of my
leadership activity.

Title: Zombie Unicorn Apocalypse

Submitted by: Andrew Busker Date Submitted: Jan 23, 2014 Participants: 5+

Equipment: Objects to mark boundaries (4 cones, backpacks, natural objects, or other)

Instructions:

This game is very similar to American Eagle. First, establish rectangular boundaries that are large enough for people to run around yet not too wide.
Then, have two people volunteer to be zombies. Everyone else will be unicorns. The zombies will stand in the middle of the field while everyone else will
line up on one of the narrow sides of the field (you may have the unicorns line up on either narrow side if desired). The zombies shout "Unicorns, ride!"
and the unicorns try to gallop to the other side without being tagged. If they are tagged or run outside of the boundary, they become a zombie unicorn and
will join the two original zombies in tagging the normal unicorns in the next round. Rounds continue until there is only 1 remaining unicorn. The game
restarts as the last two unicorns become the new zombies. Each role in the game moves a different way. The original two zombies must keep their arms
stretched out and must drag one foot behind the other, to impersonate the movement of a zombie. Unicorns must have one of their hands made into a fist,
with the thumb-side against their forehead and their pinkie finger sticking straight out- to represent their unicorn horn. Unicorns cannot run, and must
side-gallop by hitting the side of their shoes together as the move. When a unicorn is tagged, it blends the zombie movement into the unicorn movement.
Zombie unicorns must now move like the zombies- one foot dragging behind the other- and have their free hand outstretched so they can use it to take
other unicorns. Zombie unicorns can only use that hand to tag and cannot switch hands between their horn-fist and tagging hand.

Title: How to

Submitted by: Alfonso Corral Date Submitted: Dec 06, 2013 Participants: all

Equipment: computer, powerpoint, pictures, paper, and a writing utensil

Instructions:

How it works The information you “input†into your brain using mental pictures and associations, can be easily retrieved using the same formula.
This is called access! Access is better known as memory and you will use this when you learn how to remember everything you read. Neuroscientists say
that our brain works best using mental pictures with association. When you want to learn how to remember things you read better paint a colorful picture
in your mind to that correlate with what you want to remember. Ok, i want every one to close your eyes and remember what you whore yesterday: - Ask
students to raise their hands, and share with the class what they remember- Your brain just did two things: Painted a mental image of yourself wearing
the outfit, and triggered certain feeling that linked them to your outfit. Example a compliment, a smell, or comfort. For example If I wanted to remember that
the planet mercury is the number one planet in our solar system, I would use a key word like bun.... because it rhymes with one..... then I would use my
imagination to imagine a clumsy scientist accidently tripping and spilling silver mercury pitcher all over a freshly baked bun. -Explain that Mercury is
number one in our planetary system and that one rhymes with bun- Ok now we are going to do a simple memory game. I will show you the names of
some planets and use pictures and key words to help you remember the order of the planet. The order of the planet will be numbered based on their
proximity to the sun and end with the farthest away planet. All the numerical numbers rhyme with the key word attached to the planet. Use your memory
and imagination to create images that associate the planet with the key word and number: -Show students the planetary chart and allow them to
familiarize themselves with it. Next go through each picture and repeat the number, key word, and planet name. 1…. Bun…. Mercury 2…. Shoe….
Venus 3…Tree…Earth 4… Door…. Mars 5… Hive… Jupiter 6… Stick ….Saturn 7….. Heaven…. Uranus 8…. Gate…. Neptune 9…..
Sign… Pluto What did you learn? - Instruct students to take out a peace of paper and write down the corresponding planet to the number here: 3, 4,
7,9? -After students finish writing their answers, reveal answers and ask them how they performed. Allow for feedback. Some of you might have not got
all the answers of the planets right, but thats alright. This last exercise will spark your imagination and test your creativity. -Ask students to close their
eyes, listen, and paint a mental image of the story using their memory and minds. Remind them that the more detail and emotions they use while using
their imagination the more likely they will remember- Remember Class Try to remember Smells, Feelings, and Colors. Imagination Story: Ok class, I want
you guys to picture yourselves standing outside of a house. when you look behind you see a closed red door that leads to the inside of the house. As
soon as you turn around you realize that there is a million cyclist quickly pedaling their bikes toward you. When you realize that they are not stopping or
slowing down, you turn around, open the red door, and step inside the house. As you shut the wooden door you hear a crashing sound, and realize that
all the cyclist just hit the house at full speed. When you turn around you are greeted by the cookie monster eating cookies and riding a horse. You feel
cookie crumbs falling on your head and you smell the delicious smell of oatmeal cookies. After you realize that he wont stop eating oatmeal cookies on

Title: Privilege Walk

Submitted by: Kristi Hayes Date Submitted: Nov 19, 2013 Participants: Any

Equipment: Tape to create a line, if there is enough room.

Instructions:

Typically, for this activity you would have a line(either made from tape, or a line in a gym) and the participants would make two lines, one on each side of
the line provided. Once they are in place, you will give an example such as "walk to the line if you have ever experienced a bad hair day". If this is true to
you, then walk to the line, if the next statement is also true to you, then stay at the line; if it is not then go back to where you started. Each time a
statement is true for you, walk to the line. If you are unable to do use the line method, then you can have the participants sit or stand, which is what we
will be doing in class. It works the same way, but instead of walking to the line if the statement is true, you stand up; if it is not true for you then you sit
down. This is a more serious, personal activity so please remember to be honest and respectful to the other participants. :)

Title: BOOM!

Submitted by: Amanda Becker Date Submitted: Oct 21, 2013 Participants: 25

Equipment: Just yourself and some friends!

Instructions:

This game can be played one of two ways...either with the entire group, or, as I'll be implementing it, split into two smaller groups. The class will split in
half and each half will circle up with one "boomer" in the middle. The boomer will proceed to go around the circle and extend their arms and shout
"BOOM!" at his or her classmates, one at a time. Whichever person the boomer selects to receive the boom must duck down as quickly as possible, and
the two people on either side of that person will simultaneously turn towards each other and try to "out-boom" one another. If the person who received the
boom fails to duck quickly enough, he or she is eliminated. If the person who receives the boom ducks in time, then whichever person to the left or right of
that person shouts "BOOM!" the quickest, wins. When each group gets down to two people, those four will become a group, and when that group
reaches two people, the remaining two will stand back to back. One of the original boomers will select a category (for example, types of fruit) and the two
people will slowly begin walking away from one another as the boomer calls out items within that category (banana, strawberry, grape...). When the
boomer calls out something that is NOT in the category (monkey, for example), the two people quickly turn and try to out-boom each other. The quickest
wins!

Submitted by: Clayton Lott Date Submitted: Oct 16, 2013 Participants: 10+

Equipment: Chalkboard and chalk or dry erase boards and markers.

Instructions:

Divide the group into teams. Have each team stand in a single file line facing the board. Give the last person in each line a car with a drawing on it. They
get five seconds to look at the picture then must set down the card. They must then draw the picture from memory on the person in front of them's back
with their finger. That person must then draw what was drawn on their back on the person in front of them until the picture reaches the front of the line.
The first person in line must then draw what was drawn on them on the board. Once the picture has been drawn on the board the entire team must be
sitting down and quiet to win. The quickest team with the most accurate picture wins. Players may not talk to each other and may only draw the picture
one time.

Title: Leader

Submitted by: Emily Grotte Date Submitted: Oct 14, 2013 Participants: 10+

Equipment: None

Instructions:

Have everyone sit in a circle. Choose one person to be the detective, this person then goes somewhere out of view from the group (preferably outside of
the the room but around a corner will work). The facilitator of the activity then points to one person to be the 'leader'. Everyone in the circle must see who
the leader is without making noises or naming the leader out loud. When everyone knows who the leader is, the detective is called back to the group.
The detective then must walk around the inside of the circle, trying to find out who the leader is. The leader will be moving in different ways (for example,
positioning their legs differently or clapping), everyone else in the circle must do what the leader does, trying not to give away who the leader is. The
detective gets three guesses to guess the leader. If the detective chooses someone who is not the leader, that person must lay back and cease
participation. When the leader is guessed or the three guesses are up, then the leader becomes the next detective and the game starts over again.

Title: "Who Am I?"

Submitted by: Tom Loftus Date Submitted: Oct 09, 2013 Participants: 27

Equipment: Pieces of paper (one for each person participating) that has the name of a different famous person written on each one; and a roll of
masking tape.

Instructions:

The activity that I will lead is called “Who Am I?†The way it works is, the leader has previously written down the names of different famous people
on several pieces of colorful paper, enough to account for every participant present. To start the activity, everyone will assemble in a line (note: for a large
group, there should be enough room for everyone to walk around and “mingle†comfortably); the leader will then hand the stack of paper to the first
person in line, face down, along with a roll of masking tape. The leader will then ask the first person in line to pick a paper from the stack and tape it to
the back of the person next to them, with the name of the person visible. The first person will then pass the stack and the roll of tape to the next person,
who will do the same thing to the person next to them, and so on, until everyone has a name on their back. (The last person in line will need to eventually
“tape†the first person in line.) Once everyone has a name on their back, the fun begins! Everyone will then have 5 minutes to go around and ask
each other yes-and-no questions, to try to learn who they are. The “famous people†can be men or women, young or old, dead or alive, fictional or
real. (For the purposes of this RPTA 428 class, which has 18 women and 9 men enrolled, the names of 18 famous women and 9 famous men will be
utilized.) Once a person has learned who they are, they will be able to move the name from their back to their front, and show everyone that they figured
out who they are. (To make things easier, once a person has learned who they are, they should move to the opposite side of the room or field.) At the end
of the 5 minutes, everyone will come together again, and for those who haven’t figured out who they are yet, someone in the group will tell them; and
for anyone who isn’t familiar with a particular famous person, someone will volunteer to tell them about that person. For everyone else, if there is
time, each person will give one key fact about "their" famous person. The goal of this activity is to help youth get to know each other, to nudge them in the
direction of social interaction, to help them learn something about each other’s interests and communication style, to have fun, and perhaps even to
learn a little bit about the world (via learning about the famous people in it).

Title: Park Ranger

Listing of Leadership Activities and Group Games http://schlags.com/paul/leadership/listing1zx4ja8ch8.php
Submitted by: Katy Hunt Date Submitted: Sep 23, 2013 Participants: Unlimited

Equipment: Four cones or border markers, a large play area.

Instructions:

All participants line up shoulder to shoulder at between one set of border cones while the facilitator chooses a Park Ranger and an Eagle. After the Park
Ranger and Eagle have been selected, one of the two will put the other two cones/border markers on the other end of the play field. The participants
lined up play the role of wild animals running from one end of the play field to the other. With a designated animal in their mind, the participants have to
run from one border to the other depending on the characteristic based question asked by the Ranger. The goal of the game is to be the last animal
running wild. The Ranger stands in the middle of the play field between the cones and asks specific questions about the "animals" characteristics. If one
of the animals is caught, they have to freeze in spot and turn into a tree. As a tree, they can tag animals that pass them by but cannot move. As for the
role of the Eagle, they help the Ranger in asking questions and making sure none of the participants cheat. The role of the Eagle is a prime opportunity
for everyone, regardless of their own limitations. For example, if a participant has mobility issues, the role of the Eagle allows them to fully participate
within the game.

throughout the hallway. The object is that the leader has to guide the group using only their voice. You will have to find your sign and bring it back to the
room. The first team back to the classroom will win. There are two rules for the group: one you can not open your eyes, and two you can not let go. And
the only rule for the leader is that you can only use your voice during the game.

Title: Fly Your Flag High

Submitted by: Cassie Kopp Date Submitted: Aug 28, 2013 Participants: 15-25

Equipment: T-shirt Flag or Paper Markers String

Instructions:

For this leadership activity, I will be leading the group through the process of creating our flag. Traditionally, flags are used to mark the success of a group
or to stake a claim for the group. This is most prevalent in hiking groups. However, this is a powerful activity that enables each group member to share
his/her strengths and areas of growth. The activity begins by asking the group about the symbolism of flags. After a very brief discussion, I will then
explain the purpose of the flag for this activity. This flag will serve as a representation of the entire group. If we were to attempt a challenging feat, this
flag would serve as an indication of our group efforts. Otherwise, this flag serves as a symbol of our connection and our support of one another. Currently
the flag is completely empty. I am going to give you some time to think about what you can offer the group, a strength of yours, and what you need from
the group, an area of growth. Once you’ve determined what that is for you, you can fill in your piece of the flag with your name, your offering, and
your need. If there is adequate time, feel free to enhance your part of the flag with drawings and color. Because this activity window is short, the flag will
likely not be completed. However, I will explain that once each group member has completed their portion of the flag, then we would share out as a group
what our offerings and needs are. The last component of this process is to unite the flag symbols together for display.

Participants will gather around one leader of the activity in a circle. The leader will have topics prepared such as: fears, interests, favorite things, etc. The
leader will begin with a general topic and then a more specific topic, the participants will then move closer or further away from the leader and circle
depending on their opinion. For example, if the leader says the topic is fears and then says, "spiders," the participants who aren't scared of spiders at all
will come close to the leader, and those who do not like spiders will move back as far as they like. When everyone stops moving, the leader will then say
a new topic. The amount of topics can be altered to make the game shorter or longer!

Title: RPTA Scavenger Hunt

Submitted by: Madeline Ruhl Date Submitted: Aug 26, 2013 Participants: 30

Equipment: Paper and pencil.

Instructions:

This activity allows students to break into groups and learn more about each other and their surroundings. It is a basic scavenger hunt with some twists.
Break the group into teams of 4 people and pass out one scavenger hunt per group. The facilitator has put up signs around the area with necessary
information, such as who are the administrative assistants or the group leaders, as well as funny interesting facts that every group has to find. Here is the
catch: every team must stay in physical contact with each other the entire time! No exceptions! This forces the group to interact and work together as a
team to find the answers. Give them a time limit, and let them scavenge! By the end of ten minutes or so, they should have gotten more comfortable with
their teammates, learned some information about the facility (school, camp, or wherever they are), and had a great time doing it!

people in the circle can not move. When a zombie is coming after them, they must shout something related to the category in order to not be tagged and
become a zombie as well. No one can shout the same thing. A zombie must try to tag at least two new people after going for the same person. The game
is over or a new category is picked after all the people have been tagged.

may use an eyebrow lift . After correct or incorrect attempts of discovery the cards should be reshuffled and the game repeated. This games purpose

group leader will have to draw that image on the back of the person in front of them and so on, until it gets to the person facing the board. The person at
the board has to draw what they think is being drawn on them. I will judge which is closest to the original picture. After 5 rounds, whoever has the most
points wins. There are no verbal hints allowed. The purpose of this is to pay attention to detail and really focus on the task at hand. The winners will get

turn around for another 20 seconds and change something about their appearance (remove headband, change watch to other wrist, or untie their shoe ).
Once the time is up they will both turn around and try to guess what the physical changes their partner made. The student that notices the change first

Title: Electric Current

Submitted by: Rachel Cawthorn Date Submitted: Apr 15, 2013 Participants: 25+

Equipment: A coin, a chair, and a racquetball

Instructions:

To set up eletric current, you need to form two teams of equal size. When you’ve divided the group evenly, have each team member face the same
direction, and have each team facing each other. Instruct each team to hold hands to form two long human chains. At the end of the two lines, place a
chair with a small object (racquetball) on it. To play, have the two players at the front of the line watch the referee. Have everyone else close their eyes
and face downward. Instruct everyone to be silent. For each round, the referee does the following: Flip a coin and quietly show it only to the first two
players at the front of each team. Whenever the coin shows â€Heads,†the two people at the front of the line must squeeze the hand of the next person
in line as quickly as possible. Whenever that player’s hand gets squeezed, he or she quickly continues to “pass the electric current†by
squeezing the next person’s hand, and so on. As the “electric current†transfers along the line, the goal of the game is to be the first team to
grab the object (the ball) on the chair. If heads was flipped and a team successfully grabs the ball, that team wins a point. On the other hand, if the team
grabs the ball but heads was not flipped, then the point goes to the other team. After each coin flip, wait several seconds and then flip again. Keep
flipping until the coin shows “Heads.†For a short game, the winner is the first team to score 10 points.

together, this will determine smaller groups. The groups will be split by whichever thumb is on top after interlocking their hands. Now we have 4 groups.

their team member. In the final round each player will have 5 or 10 ping pong balls (depending on how easily shaking out 3 ping pong balls went) They

each of the gathered items to the groups. Have each group designate a looker and a runner . The rest of the group members are constructors. Each
group will have five minutes to re-create the display. The only member of the group that is allowed to see the display is the looker. The looker can tell the
runner anything and everything they want about the display without using the items to demonstrate or showing the runner the display. The runner must
then relate that information back to the constructors by only answering yes or no questions. The constructors can ask any question they choose as long
as the answer provided is either yes or no. The constructors then take the answers to the yes or no questions to best re-construct the display. After the
activity the facilitator leads a discussion using the following questions: What was difficult about this activity? What was it like to be in each of the different
roles? How can you take what you learned and use it to better communicate as a team/on another team /in the real world?

tricky and confusing, so technically there is no one RIGHT answer. The winner of the top price is determined by whoever recognizes that there is no one

Title: The Machine

Submitted by: Timothy M. Freeman Date Submitted: Sep 28, 2012 Participants: 20+

Equipment: A open space free of hazardous objects

Instructions:

Participants will be asked to partner up, and asked to stand across form one another with all the partners lined up shoulder to shoulder. At this point I will
designate group A and group B. I will ask group B to turn away from their partner and close their eyes. I will then ask group A to make 5 side steps
leaving five individuals from group A without a partner in front of them as well five individuals from group B without a partner behind them. I will then ask
the five from group A without a partner to stand behind the five from group B without a partner. After I have established the new partners I will then
designate group A as the Operators and group B as the Machines. I will then ask the Machines to open their eyes and quickly glance at their new partner,
turn back around, and close their eyes again. I will then begin by telling the Operators how to operate their machine. To make the machine move forward
tap them on the center of the back between the shoulder blades. To make the machine move left tap them on the left shoulder. To make the machine
move right tap them on the right shoulder. Last to make the machine stop tap them on the head. Once instruction is complete I will instruct the Machines
that during the time the Operator is controlling them that the Machine must ask the Operator three questions, one of which must be their full name. The
Operator will operate the machine for three minutes and the machine must ask those questions within that time and at the end of the three minutes must
be able to recite the questions and answers. After the three minutes is up I will ask the Operators to stop where they are, while instructing the Machine to
remain in place with their eyes closed. I will then ask the Operators to walk away from their machines and line up. I will then ask the machines to open
their eyes and instruct them to go stand with their Operator. At this point I will choose an individual to recite their Questions and Answers. (Usually the
entire group would recite but in the interest of time I will select 1 partnership, maybe 2 if I have time). Hypothetically, after each individual goes the activity
would continue with a change of the Machine to Operators and vic versa but also the instructor would reorganize the partners in the same manner as in
the beginning. The intention of this activity is mainly used as an icebreaker to build bonds of trust with an individual as well as get individuals to get to
know one another. It also promotes memory and physical response and is great for kids and adults from 10 and up.

Title: 2 Truths and a Lie

Submitted by: Allison Klein Date Submitted: Sep 23, 2012 Participants: 4 groups of about 8

Equipment: No equipment is needed.

Instructions:

This game can be played with at least two participants. For our class size, I will be breaking the class into four groups of approximately eight people using
a deck of cards. The groups will be arranged by matching suits from the deck. This game can be played inside or outside, just as long as everyone in the
group can hear all the participants. Once the groups have been formed, each group should form a circle. Each participant comes up with two true
statements about themselves and then one lie. The other participants are to guess which one of the three statements is a lie. The lie can be anything
from a previous job you've had, how many siblings, how old you are, etc. Once people have had a chance to guess, the participant reveals which one is a
lie and why. This activity serves as a way for the group to get to know each other. It can be played with a variety of ages, as long as the participant is
able to comprehend that they need to come up with two true statements and one lie. Since there is no equipment needed, it can be played anywhere.

Submitted by: Kelli Speckan Date Submitted: Sep 18, 2012 Participants: 4+

Equipment: None

Instructions:

To split the class into 2 groups, each student takes a card from the deck. Depending if he/she picked a red, yellow or green card will determine which
group he/she will be in. Now that the groups are set, the group must sit in a circle. All of the players need to pick a hand gesture that will represent an
animal that he/she is (no two players can have the same gesture). Once everyone has an animal, one person needs to be selected to start the round.
The starter begins to smack the desk twice and clap once. When the group is ready, everyone starts to do the 1, 2 clap. During the first 1, 2 clap the
group will shout, “one, two, let’s play zoo!†On the first clap, the starter will perform his/her animal gesture. On the next clap, the starter then
does another player’s animal gesture. Now, the player whose animal was just thrown does their gesture on the next clap then performs someone
else’s animal gesture on the clap after. The round will continue until someone in the group does the wrong gesture, then he/she is out. The game will

Instructions:

There will be groups of 6. Each person will get 6 sheets of paper (depending on how many people are in the group, is how many pieces of paper
everyone would get) I recommend numbering the cards in the corner of each pile. On card number 1, think of anything you want and write it down on the
card. It can be a word or a phrase. Once that word or phrase is written down pass your personal pile to the left. When you get a new pile, read what is on
the card and draw what is said on card #1 on card #2. Pass the cards to the left and look at the drawing. Then on card #3write what you think was drawn
on card #2. This game continues until you receive your original pile back. Then each member of the group shares what their starting word turned into.
This is a fun and easy way to take up time. It gives kids a chance to use their imagination and it always brings laughter.
