Big Ideas/Unit Goals:


Students find physical activity that is challenging and enjoyable to develop and maintain the five components of fitness.
Students develop fitness plans for themselves to be active each day of class.
Use of fitness tests to track progress and goals.
Students can use creativity and collaboration when developing their personal programs
What is FITT Principle? What are the 5 components of Physical Fitness?

Unit Summary:
Students will be able to develop a fitness program, track progress and goals through physical activity that is challenging and enjoyable.
Students will collaborate in small groups to develop their programs. The fitness tests used will be standardized tests (i.e. Cooper run test)
Students will create group presentations to show understanding of fitness concepts, workout program and fitness tests.
