Gamma functions are not an improvement on measured data, just one way of imagining how a

distribution might lie while preserving density and mol weight. Natural distributions are not
always smooth nor monotonic. If we only have data to C7+ or C11+ and we need to split into
more fractions then we have to decide on a logarithmic, gamma or other function for the
distribution. Are we ever in the situation where we cannot get appropriate measurements and so
we really need these distributions?
