Assignment Portfolio – Elements of Art
Design a cover to decorate the front of your portfolio. The theme is “The Elements of Art”
You must have your name and homeroom written in a small box in the top-right corner.
Requirements Name is featured creatively and clearly.
Choose 3 elements of art or principles of art to feature. Come up with three creative and
interesting images, symbols, patterns, or designs that highlight them.

Assignment Conflict Colour Scheme
Using colour theory and the strategies discussed to choose colour schemes, students will give colour
to a black line drawing. Colour must be used to show the theme “conflict”. The teacher will supply
you with photocopies of the work to be coloured. You must explain why you chose your colour
scheme and how the colours work together on your gallery card.

A radial pattern is a pattern that branches out from a central point. Elements of the pattern usually
repeat in circles around this point. Radial patterns are usually symmetrical along multiple axes.
Students are to create a collage using at least 3 colours of construction paper. The collage must form
a radial pattern, and all pieces used in the collage must come from circles that have been cut into
