Malinaonons’ Christmas celebration is quite unique because of its

festive atmosphere-- colorful, lively, bright, and twinkling, which is

deeply rooted on handed-down culture from the earliest settlers.
Inspired by the star that guided the magi to the manger in the
story of the Nativity of Jesus, this “paroe” is an expression of
shared faith and hope of every MSPCian.
It was painstakingly crafted by the devoted and dedicated hands
whose craftsmanship exudes in the intricacies of “paroe”. Mr. Arsol
Nemes and Mr. Jonathan Reynado, who headed the creation of this
magnificent “paroe” have thoroughly woven different indigenous
materials available to the locality into one master piece. Their
resourcefulness and creativity paved the way to the illumination of
this vibrant “paroe” which illuminates over darkness and bring
goodwill to every person whose eyes dwell on it.
The conception of this iconic Christmas symbol has begun in the
humble abode, Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen, driven by
passion, craftsmanship, and inspiration of giving the Malinaonons
a hope in the midst of challenges of time. It took a month and a
half to give birth on this symbol which will eventually give light and
hope to everyone.
May this “paroe” bring you happiness in the life, strengthen your
faith to His will, hope in times of challenges, and love unto your
family and love ones.
