Re: Quality System Requirements, QS-9000, Third Edition p.44, Calibration Services, 4.11.2.b.1
This section lists options for calibration services. One option is that the calibration service has evidence of an
assessment by an OEM customer or an OEM customer-approved second party, that they meet the intent of
ISO/IEC Guide 25 or 17025.
The following organizations will be recognized by GM Car & Truck as approved second parties for section
4.11.2.b.1 assessing calibration laboratories to the intent of ISO/IEC Guide 25 or 17025.

of words such as “Accredited”, “Accreditation”, “Certified”, or “Certification Mark”. Only issue a “Letter of
Conformance” referencing the successful assessment to the intent of ISO/IEC Guide 25 or 17025.

recognizes accreditations by these organizations as being equivalent. These organizations shall accept
each other’s accreditation results. This is particularly relevant for traceability and uncertainty.
