Duration of the exam: 2 h 00 min

1st PROBLEM

Consider the circuit of the figure 1 operating in steady state.

Supose that E1 = 5 V, E2 = 5 V, E3 = 25 V, E4 = 10 V, R1 = 3 Ω, R2 = 5 Ω, R3 = 5 Ω, R4 = 10 Ω,
R5 = 6 Ω, R6 = 4 Ω, n1 = 5000 e, n2 = 500 e, 0 = 4  10-7 H m-1 e r = 5000.

Considering the internal resistances of each coil equals to 2 Ω. Calculate:

[2,0 val.] a) the value of the current charged by the power supplies E3 and E4;

[1,0 val.] b) the value of the voltage drops in the resistors R1 and R5;

[1,0 val.] c) the value of the power dissipated by Joule effect in the three coils;

[0,5 val.] d) the current in R4 by applying the current divider;

[1,5 val.] e) the Thévenin equivalent in the circuit to the right of A-B;

[0,5 val.] f) the magnetomotive force F mm of each inductor;

[1,0 val.] g) the magnetic reluctance R m of the magnetic circuit;

[1,0 val.] h) the flux  in each magnetic circuit section;

[0,5 val.] i) the magnetic induction in each magnetic circuit section;

[1,0 val.] j) the flux ’ in each magnetic circuit section, considering E2 = 10 V. Compare with h)
and make conclusions.
