Get introduced to GRE Verbal:
Pattern of GRE verbal
o No. of verbal sections including AWA
o Score for each section and adaptive nature of sections
o Time allotment for each section
You can also understand more about GRE from the trial package that GREedge
provides. You can also access a lot of questions when you click and register.
By now, your understanding of the verbal section would be good, so to start with, take
one diagnostic test to know your level with respect to actual GRE. This will give an
experience of how the questions will be.
Record your experience of giving the test, to track your improvement.
Reading : Start reading one article a day.
Vocabulary : Learn a minimum of 10 to 20 words a day from the trial word list available,
along with the usage of the words. Do not forget to revise the words that you have
completed before moving on to the new set of words.
QUANT
Continue reading chapter 5 from "GRE Quantitative® Reasoning". Study the concepts
of Profit and loss available in the Learning Tracker. You can get full access to the
Learning Tracker only when you enroll with us. To access the limited version of the

Revise the concepts under ‘My Revision bank. ’ Do the review test after that and check
the explanations for all questions for better understandings.
Once you are familiar with concepts and basic level questions, take the ‘Advanced
Practice Bank’ of the same topic to be sure about higher level questions.
Once it is done, complete one Quant Diagnostic test (2 sections, 20 questions per
section for 35 minutes).
After the test, review the explanations for all questions and understand your time
management.
It need not be continuous 2 hours a day. You can break the time according to your availability
and prepare. For ex: 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the afternoon, 30 minutes in the
evening and 30 minutes at night.
Let us go step by step. I would like to brief your plan for the first two weeks. Every day, read
three articles from a variety of themes from GREedge Word Locator. Along with that, learn 20
to 30 words a day from GREedge WordBot. Kindly start with word list number 13, because list
13 to 20 has high priority GRE words.
Reading Comprehension (RC): Start with one RC learn session every two days from the
GREedge Learning Tracker. Each learn session is a tutorial which focuses on one important RC
question type (like main idea, factual questions, tone/attitude type of questions, etc)
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Spend some time for self-analysis by checking
your transcript regularly not just to know our feedback, but also to identify your learning
problems.
Download the formula and conversion document available along with the study plan and start
memorizing the formulas.
In Learning Tracker, start with Arithmetic Program under My Lessons and complete all the
subtopics under it along with the test.
After the completion of each test, spend quality time to go through the explanations of all
question in the test to understand your mistakes. Take measures to rectify them.
In Official Guide, Start reading the entire Arithmetic concept under GRE math review (Chapter
7). Complete the exercise available at the end and cross-check your answer.
THIRD WEEK
VERBAL
Reading Comprehension (RC): Continue with RC learn session from the GREedge
Learning Tracker and start with the RC Practice sessions. Spend enough time for self-analysis.
Start listing out your learning problems. Share it with your personal trainer, who can help you
get solutions to your problems.
Vocabulary: By this time you would have completed 175 to 210 words. Start focusing on the
synonyms and antonyms of those words from GREedge Wordbot. Gradually start taking tests
for synonyms and antonyms.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Read a few articles related to the subjects you
are not familiar with.
Extended activity: Start with the basic questions of ETS Guide for verbal reasoning.
Note: Do not solve questions superficially. Completing is not the target, learning out of the
mistakes is the target. Make sure that it is happening throughout.
Start with Applied Math program and complete the first three subtopics under it along with the
test.
In Official Guide, continue reading the entire Algebra concept under GRE math review
(Chapter 7).
Complete the exercise available at the end and cross-check your answer.
FOURTH WEEK
VERBAL
Reading Comprehension (RC): Continue with RC practice session from the GREedge
Learning Tracker. Get used to RC long passages, inference and critical reasoning type of
questions.
Vocabulary: Keep revising the words, take various basic tests from GREedge Wordbot.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. List out your learning problems in RC with
respect to your performance in the RC Learn and the Practice sessions you have taken so far.
Extended activity: Continue with the basic questions of ETS Guide for verbal reasoning,
and solve a few questions from medium level.
QUANT
In Learning Tracker, complete the remaining three subtopics under Applied Math Programs
along with their respective review tests.
Start and complete the entire Geometry Program under My lessons and all the subtopics under
it along with the test.
FIFTH WEEK
VERBAL
RC Revision: Now, you would have practiced sufficient questions for RC from various
question types and various levels of difficulty. Take two days time to revise the concepts that
you have learnt so far.
Text Completion (TC): As you have been learning words simultaneously along with RC
practice, by this time you must be familiar with more than 500 words. This would be good to
start TC questions. Start with one TC learn session a day from the GREedge Learning Tracker.
Know the techniques of how to identify the clues, how to understand the context, and how to
answer the question based on the context.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. As you have already listed out your problems
and have started working on the solutions to overcome the problems, make sure you are
analyzing if the solution works out or not. If not, discuss with your personal trainer, and get
their guidance.
Extended activity: Continue with the medium questions of RC from ETS Guide for verbal
reasoning.
QUANT
Start and complete the entire DI Program under My lessons along with the test.
Complete the entire Data Analysis Program under My lessons and all the subtopics under it
along with the test.
Revise the concepts of Arithmetic topics under ‘My Revision bank’ . After that take a test under
‘My Advanced Practice bank’ to solve higher level difficult questions on Arithmetic topic.
In Official Guide, continue reading the entire Data Analysis concept under GRE math review
(Chapter 7).
SIXTH WEEK
VERBAL
RC Practice: Practice a minimum of one passage a day from now on to be in touch with this
category of questions. Start with RC difficult questions from ETS official guide.
Text Completion (TC): Start taking one TC practice every alternate days from the
GREedge Learning Tracker. The additional work here to make note of the new words that you
come across in each practice module. Make note of those words, hunt the meaning of those,
and the usage. Add them to your revision list.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Start spending time to identify the learning
problems that you are facing while answering TC questions.
Extended activity: Start with TC medium questions from ETS official guide.
QUANT
In Learning tracker, revise the concepts of Algebra , Applied Math and DI topics under ‘My
Revision bank’ . After that take a test under ‘My Advanced Practice bank’ to solve higher level
difficult questions on the above topics.
For the topics where the performance was not up to the mark (a score less than 6), redo the
review test under ‘My Revision Bank’.
In Official Guide, start with “GRE® Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions” (Chapter 6)
Complete the practice questions under set 1 and set 4 (Discrete Question - Easy and DI sets)
Text Completion (TC): Continue to take one TC practice every alternate days from the
GREedge Learning Tracker. Also, continue to make note of the new words that you come
across in each practice module. Continue the process of learning new words and add them to
your revision list.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Start finding out solutions by yourself, or
discuss with your SFA to get their support.
Extended activity: Continue with TC medium questions from ETS official guide. Start with
one or two difficult ones.
QUANT
In Learning tracker, revise the concepts of Geometry and Data Analysis topics under ‘My
Revision bank’ . After that take a test under ‘My Advanced Practice bank’ to solve higher level
difficult questions on the above topics.
For the topics where the performance was not up to the mark (a score less than 6), redo the
review test under ‘My Revision Bank’
Complete the practice questions under set 2 and set 3 (Discrete Question - Medium and Hard)
Text Completion (TC): Continue to practice one RC difficult passage questions from ETS
official guide, everyday.
Sentence Equivalence (SE): As TC and SE are similar in many ways, there is no much
difference in answering the questions. Make sure that you are selecting two options for the
given blank. Start the practice sessions from the GREedge Learning Tracker.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Select a random topic and write for or against
the topic with your own reasons for your stance.
Extended activity: Start with SE practice questions from ETS official guide. Read a few
sample issue essays online.
QUANT
The preparation so far was focused to attain a comfort level to answer all level of difficult
questions from the entire GRE Quant topics. Now that the GRE is a month away, it is time to
focus on time management.
In learning Tracker, Start with the GRE quant style tests . These tests are similar to the
diagnostic tests. (2 sections, 20 question per section for 35 minutes).
Unlike diagnostic tests, style tests are not adaptive ones. These tests are purely meant to
improve the time management skills. So, ensure that all the questions are attempted.
Complete the first three style tests. (Not on the same day or three continuous days). Complete
the first test and understand thoroughly the mistakes committed. Rectify them before the
next tests.
TC: Start practicing a few difficult questions from ETS official guide, everyday.
SE: Complete the practice sessions available in the GREedge Learning Tracker
AWA (Issue): Take the practice sessions available in the GREedge Learning Tracker, and
read a few sample essays at the same place.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Select an argument topic and see if you are
able to list out the flaws that you can identify from the given argument.
Extended activity: Read a few sample argument essays online. Take topics from the ETS
pool of issue topics and write your response. This will be a good practice. Select challenging
topics and practice. After you practice, search some samples online and collect information.
QUANT
In learning Tracker, continue taking the Quant style tests. A test can be taken every second
day. A maximum of 4 style tests can be completed this week.
In Official Guide, take the first Quantitative reasoning test under “Authentic GRE® Practice
Test” (Chapter 8).
Evaluate your performance and check the explanations for all questions.
AWA (Argument): Take the practice sessions available in the GREedge Learning Tracker,
and read a few sample essays at the same place.
GRE Style Tests (Verbal): Start taking GRE Style tests (GST) to work more on time
management. So far the focus was more on accuracy, now it has to shift to effective
management of time. Take one test a day with complete attention.
Weekend activity: Revise all the words that you have learnt in that week on Saturday, and
take a test on Sunday from GREedge Wordbot. Spend time for self-analysis.
Extended activity: Take topics from the ETS pool of argument topics and write your
response. This will be a good practice. Select challenging topics and practice. After you
practice, search some samples online and collect information.
QUANT
In learning Tracker, complete the remaining Quant style tests. A test can be taken every

In Official Guide, take the second Quantitative reasoning test under “Authentic GRE® Practice
Test” (Chapter 8).

Make sure that you are focusing on your accuracy as well as time management in AWA, and
the two verbal sections. After the test, spend time for self-analysis.
Take FLT once in three days. The rest of the days spend time for revision of all that you have
been learning so far. Starting from words to AWA.

As the GRE is two weeks away, it is time to move the focus to the mock tests.
