The client is a world-class refinery which started

operation in June 2008. Located in Jubail Eastern
Province of Saudi Arabia, the company is a Refinery
and Petrochemical complex processing 400,000
barrels per day of Arabian Heavy Crude Oil and
producing Benzene, Gasoline, Diesel, Propylene
among other products.

The client was looking for a knowledgeable and

reliable Data Center relocation partner to move a
hundred of racks consisting of a hybrid environment,
from a colocation facility to a new permanent Data
Center within a short timeframe and minimal
downtime. The two locations were approximately

Following Edarat Group’s proven methodology in

similar business cases, multiple strategies were
developed to optimally complete a system migration
based on several factors. Assessing the size
complexity and ensuring uninterrupted business
operations were critical aspects that played an
essential role in performing the migration over several
move events instead of one large event.

A detailed interdependency discovery exercise was

performed leading to the identification of the optimum
move bundles to comply with the Maximum Tolerable
Outage. Edarat Group consultants were able to meet
the customer’s deadline with risk substantially
mitigated and effective contingency plans developed.
All racks and equipment moved in 5 days keeping
downtime to an absolute minimum. As a result, the
client benefited from a better ownership, security and
control over their IT environment in addition to
reduced operational costs.
