As an academic internship program, The Washington Center maintains a high standard of excellence in our programmatic structure as
well as the quality of students we recruit. Students are required to submit a comprehensive application packet that provides a thorough
picture of their knowledge, skill sets and interest areas. The Washington Center upholds a rigorous screening process whereby students
are screened by their home institutions and by Washington Center staff. Similarly, we want to maintain a high standard with respect to
the internship opportunities our partners provide to students.
It is our goal to provide an avenue for the student to gain hands-on experience in professional work environments that relate to their
academic and career interests. The program is structured to benefit both the student intern as well as the sponsoring organization.
In order to ensure that the minimum standards are met to grant academic credit for an internship, The Washington Center requests the
following information, and has established the following evaluation criteria for internship site sponsors.
