TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

It is a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Yogesh Gautam whom I have personally
known for six years. He was my student from his first semester in Himalaya college of Engineering. On
basis of his academic qualities and performance I place him among top five students of his batch. I taught
his class "Applied Mechanics", "Concrete technology", "Applied dynamics", “Structural Dynamics” and
"Theory of structure I". I was also his project supervisor during his final year project. I vividly remember
his aptitude towards learning civil engineering structures which he had expressed openly by choosing
“Earthquake Analysis and Structural Design of Multi-storied RCC Framed office Building” as final year
project. During the project I found him very meticulous person as he was leading his project team.
Currently, he works on same department with me. We both have been working on Department of Urban
Development and Building Construction (DUDBC).He has been actively involved in building analysis,
design and construction works under DUDBC. He also performs the work of site supervision.

I, as a senior engineer of department, feel pleasure to write this letter of recommendation

for Mr. Yogesh Gautam. He has been working on same department (DUDBC) with me from
April, 2016. He has worked as site engineer and also has performed the task of analysis and
design of buildings. Our department is currently working for reconstruction and
rehabilitation of about sixty thousand houses that were affected by large earthquakes two
years ago in Nepal. As he was enthusiastic student of structural dynamics and earthquake
engineering, he shows great interest to work for reconstruction. He has wholeheartedly
accepted the challenge put forth by the earthquake of 2015. I have often seen him
discussing problems with seniors and other colleagues. I also have helped to clear his
doubts and curiosities regarding earthquake resilient building construction.
Mr. Gautam is an interactive and a curious person. He is duly updated about what is being taught and is
a person you get pleasure having as a student in your class. He showed keen interest in all subjects and
during our talks would mention that he would like to pursue his masters in Structural Engineering. Today,
I feel pleased to recommend such a dedicated person to pursue his dream. He has presented himself as an
interactive student, discussing openly with teacher and friends while learning. Furthermore, working on
same department I have seen his enthusiasm to work and contribute in earthquake resilient building
construction. I have always found him interested in learning more about earthquake resilient structures.
To sum up, he is an enthusiastic and energetic person. I am glad to recommend Mr. Yogesh Gautam to
your university. I am sure that he will prove to be a good teaching assistant if given the opportunity.
