0 Systems Requirements
Summary of eMuseum5.0 system requirements and prerequisite applications.

Operating System
 Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012 R2. Server 2012 R2 recommended.
 CentOS 7
 Other Linux distributions that support JRE 1.8 and Tomcat 8.

RAM
 2GB RAM required per application, 4GB recommended – applications being Tomcat and SQL
Server or other RDMS though a minimum of 4 is recommended.

Hard Drive
 20GB of hard drive space available
 Additional storage space depends on the amount of media published and if it’s hosted on the
eMuseum webserver (as is the default configuration).

Java
eMuseum is a Java based application and requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.7 at a minimum,
though JRE 1.8 is recommended. Versions earlier than 1.7 and later than 1.8 are not supported.

Tomcat
eMuseum runs in the Tomcat web application server. Tomcat versions 7 and 8 are supported, though 8
is recommend. Versions earlier than Tomcat 7 are not supported.

Microsoft SQL Server - JTDS
The JTDS driver is required for eMuseum installations running with Microsoft SQL Server as the RDBMS,
versions 1.2.5 and greater recommended.

The OJDBC driver is required for eMuseum installations running with Oracle as the RDBMS.

RDBMS
One of the following database management systems is required:

 Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012 or 2014. MSSQL 2012 or 2014 recommended.
 Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008R2, 2012 or 2014.
 Oracle 11g or higher.
 MySQL 5 or higher.
