The PGCEi

• The Postgraduate Certificate in Education


(International) [PGCEi] is a masters level blended
learning programme of professional enrichment for
educators working in countries other than the UK

• Face-to-face meetings with UK tutors in the UAE

• The course focuses on reflecting on individual


practice through theory and enables you to
compare teaching approaches in different
countries
The course structure

• The PGCEi consists of 4 compulsory 15-credit


bearing modules, completed over 12 months

• Modules covered: Contexts; Understanding


Learning; Approaches to Teaching; Final Project

• Each module is assessed by a 3000 word


assignment
The course structure

• Credits from marks of 50 or above can be used


towards the MA Education, MA Special Needs or
the MA Educational Leadership and Management
from the University of Nottingham

• All materials, learning resources and tutorial


support is available online

• Individual tutor support, group discussions online


Entry Requirements

• Ba helor’s Degree ith at least se ond lass


honours (or equivalent) or an approved
professional qualification equivalent to a
second class honours

• If English is not your first language, you must


achieve IELTS Academic 6.5 minimum 6.0 in all
4 elements
Entry Requirements

• You should be an established educator with


day-to-day access to a class room, computer
and the internet

• Non-standard applications will be considered


on a case-by-case basis
