Attention
If you are an existing user, you are prompted to replace
the old license with the new license, as you cannot have
multiple licenses of Engauge on the same computer.

Exploring the Workspace
Both the panes are empty when you start Engauge for the
first time.
2.1
Creating a New Site
A site consists of equipments that are connected to the
machine where Engauge is installed. The first step in using
Engauge is to create a site.
2. Click New.
3. In the Site Name box, type the site name, and then
click OK.
Attention
Ensure that you are choosing the right dimensions in
the Global Settings window, as there are no options to
change these dimensions later on.

A dialog box appears to confirm the changes.

Opening an Existing Site

Renaming a Site
Attention
To rename a site, you need to open the Site Control
window. The site menu (File > Open Site) is disabled, if a
site is open in the Site Explorer. To enable the site menu,
first close the open site. To close the open site, choose
File > Close Site.

click OK.

Deleting a Site
Attention
To delete a site, you need to open the Site Control
window. The site menu (File > Open Site) is disabled, if a
site is open in the Site Explorer. To enable the site menu,
first close the open site. To close the open site, choose
File > Close Site.

GPU Site Scan
Attention
2. Click Scan.
It might approximately take about 10 minutes to
complete the scan. All the computer’s COM ports, field
connectors, and gauges are detected and displayed in the
Site Scan window.
Attention
If the GPU scan has detected COM ports, then skip to
step four.
We recommend you to use a VIATOR RS232 HART
Modem instead of USB HART Modem

3. Click OK.
4. In the Site Explorer, right-click the COM port
icon, select Add Field Connector, and then click
HART Modem.
7. E
nter the HART start and the end address. If you do
not know the start and the end address, leave them at
their default values.
8. Click OK to start the scan.
The scanning of Hart devices begins and the status of the
scanning is displayed on the lower right of the window.
Attention
Engauge can only be used as HART Primary Master.
Engauge does not support HART Secondary Master
behavior.
Engauge ignores non Honeywell Enraf HART devices
that are connected to the computer.

Enable Standard Range • True to run scans on Guage ranges (values between
0 and 99)
Enable CIU Emulation Range • True to run scans on CIU ranges (values between
0 and 999)
• If both selectors are set to false, the scan won’t have
any effect
After the scan is complete all the 990 HCI-1WL devices are
displayed in the Site Explorer.

To add a device

You can delete a device from the site at any given point
(provided the device does not have other elements
associated to it.) To delete a device, right-click the device,
and then click Delete. In the confirmation window,
click Yes.

Adding a Field Connector

Commissioning a GPU Gauge
Before a GPU gauge like an 854 Servo gauge, 87x, and 97x
Radar gauge is commissioned, they have to be verified first.
1. In the Site Explorer, select the gauge that you want
to verify.
