An awe-inspiring visit, to the Giza
Plateau including the great pyra-
mid of Khufu. The largest of the
pyramids, built for Khufu’s
(Cheops) burial (2551-2528 BC),
measures 146 meters high. Its
owner named the pyramid “The
Great Pyramid.” Khafre’s
(Chephren) pyramid measures 143.3 meters high. This pyramid
still keeps a portion of its outer-casing stone, giving you an idea
of how most of the pyramids looked when first built. Minkawra
(Mycerinus), “the Divine Pyramid” is 65.5 meters in height. This

Next, visit the Solar Boat, believed to have carried the Pharaoh
to the afterlife. A final stop on the plateau will be the panorama.
Here you will enjoy breathtaking views and perhaps even take a
camel ride.
Late afternoon visit to the Egyptian Mu-
seum. You will visit 3000 years of Egypt’s
earliest history at the Egyptian Museum,
where you will enjoy the masterpieces of
King Tutankhamun, and the Old and New
Kingdom treasures. The guided tour will
focus on some of the most ancient Egyp-
tian artifacts; the Narmer Palette, Ra-Hotep
and Nofert’s legendary statues, Khafre’s
immaculate diorite statue, and Hatshepsut’s statues and
sphinxes. Extra time will be spent in the Amarna Gallery with its
collection of statues of Akhenaton and Nefertiti. A very special
visit will be included to the somber and intriguing Mummy Room
with its eleven embalmed ancient royals, including that of the
famous Ramses II.
