Professional, hands-
on instruction and
creative freedom
In our Animation degree program, youll
learn from industry professionals, using
the same techniques and tools that youll
eventually need in the workplace. Using
state-of-the-art software and hardware,
youll create your own stories, designs,
characters and layouts, and produce
your own films.
From story pitch to
finished film
Sheridans animation program emphasizes
classical principles of animation in a variety of
forms, including 2D digital, 3D and stop motion.
Youll learn the art of storyboarding and hone
your life drawing, layout and digital painting
skills. Working collaboratively or individually
on productions, youll have the opportunity to
explore all aspects of animation filmmaking.
Career connections
After Year 3, youll gain professional
experience during a three-month work
placement. And at our annual Industry
Day, employers will fly in from across North
America to meet you, see your work and
conduct interviews.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or
equivalent, including these required courses:
English, Grade 12 (ENG4U)

Applicant Selection
Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of
previous academic achievement (the average of
their six highest senior-level credits, including
required courses), and the results of their portfolio
assessment. A portfolio review fee is required with
the submission.
Applicants who do not meet the admission
requirements for this program will be assessed
and advised individually and may be considered for
other, related programs.
Progression Policy
Academic progress in the program is based on
meeting the requirements of an internal academic
policy that outlines course and program grade
standards, as well as pre- and co-requisites.

Animation Principles Introduction to Digital Tools
Sheridan has been granted a consent by the
Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Character Design Introduction to Life Drawing
Development to offer this applied degree for
a further five-year term starting July 19, 2013. Composition and Rhetoric Story Development
Sheridan will ensure that all students admitted
to the Bachelor of Animation program during the
period of consent will have the opportunity to
complete the program within a reasonable time
frame. Credentials earned during the period of
consent remain valid, even if Ministry consent
to offer the program is withdrawn in the future. Note: See website for specific terms and course listings.
Prospective students are responsible for satisfying
themselves that the program and the degree will
be appropriate to their needs (e.g. acceptable to
potential employers, professional licensing bodies,
or other educational institutions).
