After viewing the Academic Integrity Policy and the Common Craft:

Plagiarism Video, please respond to the following questions:

1. Plagiarism is commonly referred to as

Copyright violations.

2. How will student work be checked for plagiarism? (List at least

two ways)

* using various methods, including the use of the plagiarism

identification software Turnitin.

* The Copyleaks plagiarism add-in for Microsoft Word is an easy

and accurate way for teachers to detect cases of academic

dishonesty.

3. Sanctions for plagiarism include (list at least two possible

consequences):

* a plagiarized assignment should receive a grade of zero

* Students are usually expelled for further offences

4. What is the difference between accidental plagiarism and

deliberate plagiarism?
Deliberate plagiarism is when you knowingly use another person's

work without acknowledgement. Accidental plagiarism is

generally the result of poor note taking, or paraphrasing, without

properly citing the reference.

5. How can you avoid plagiarism, while still integrating support

(ideas and quotes) in your own work?

*make the bibliography

6. Other than the written work, what other items can be plagiarized?

Can you still use these items? How?

*workmanship/idea/painting/

*we can use them if the auther did not expressly declare the

copyright of the work. But we need to write down wheres the

idea come from

7. Do some internet research and find at least one website (not

listed in the Academic Integrity Policy or on the Common Craft

Video) that helped you understand how to avoid plagiarism.
