Ives, E. A. (2012, October 1). iGeneration: The Social Cognitive Effects of Digital Technology
This article discusses the positives and negatives technology has on children and teens.
This has just what I am looking for because I want to look at both sides of the story and
see if there is more good or bad to the whole equation. The author discusses how
technology has bridged the educational gap but also how it may be damaging to the
development of our brains. This is a reliable source because the author uses 40 references
to back up his evidence. This paper will be extremely helpful to showing both the

I conducted a survey on the effect technology has on children. This survey is a credible
source and has had over fifty people take the survey so far. The ages of people
participating in the survey range from sixteen to over forty years old, that way there are
opinions from many different age groups. In the survey questions were asked about the
appropriate age for children to own their own technological devices and also if
technology has a positive or negative affect on todays youth. This is a reliable source
because it gives the audience a voice and because the reader will get to see the positives
and negatives from all points of view and from a variety of age groups.
Bavelier, D., Green, C. S., & Dye, M. W. G. (2010). Children, wired for better and for worse.
These authors talk about not only the positive and negative effects of technology on
children, but they also break down the difference between entertainment media and
educational media that children and teens have access to. Educational media and
entertainment media have different effects because one is meant to help you learn and be
more receptive to learning while the other pretty much fries your brain and does no good.
Entertainment media is just made to be sold, it can often make children more irritable and
violent while educational media helps with human growth. This article is a credible
source because there are over one hundred twenty references and there are multiple

This is a peer-reviewed journal article that discusses how playing video games can affect
children. Multiple authors give their opinions along with evidence when asked questions
on how they believe playing video games affects children positively or negatively. Most
of the authors think it depends on the type of video games the children are playing and
whether they are violent or if they are made to help challenge the childrens thinking and
to overall strengthen their educational skills. This is a reliable source because it asks six
experts with different viewpoints their opinions so the reader gets a wide variety of
information to formulate their own opinion on the topic, from reading facts and opinions
Erickson, T. (April 18, 2012.) How Mobile Technologies Are Shaping a New Generation.
This article discusses how reliant children and teens today are on technology. It discusses
all the ways children could be affected, both positively and negatively by technology.
The article even talks about how teenagers and children these days are hiding in a sense
behind a screen and how this may be linked back to why childhood obesity rates are so
high at this point in time. This is a credible, reliable source because it includes facts about
children to show their internet usage and how it affects their way of life.
Cabral, A. R. (2016, August 15). Cyberbullying affects your kids more than you think. Khaleej
This newspaper article discusses the effects of cyberbullying on children. This shows
some of the more negative effects of technology. This a reliable source because it uses
facts and because it is from a newspaper. The article talks about how cyberbullying can
lead to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and even suicidal thoughts or tendencies. In
the paper, a study was done that showed how cyberbullying is actually affecting kids
more than people think. This is a useful source for getting legitimate facts and

Don't forget to organize your annotated bibliography (and reference page) in alphabetical
order. Other than that, this is an excellent annotated bibliography. The sources are documented
well and clearly explained. You did a good job highlighting how each source is credible and how
you plan to use it in your paper. Good work!
