University Relations, Amazon

Dear Sir,

Kindly accept this letter as my expression of Interest for Pathways (Operations Leadership Development Program). The
program aligns with my short-medium term goal of being a leader in the Operations Management and to my long term
goal of leading a company. Amazon being a pioneer in e-commerce, I believe, would help me learn and grow faster as
compared to my peers in the traditional businesses.

As my last role as the Head of SCM for a division I had built the SCM organization from scratch including developing
the team, structure and processes. The business during the start was a small team of 8-10 people with an entrepreneur
mindset and grew to about 120 in 3 years with handling projects all across India. I was the part of the core team to
implement changes to a more process oriented culture.

As a Six Sigma black belt I have seen the importance and strength of data and how their analysis can lead to significant
improvements on a continual basis. We received a project from BSNL for building Broadband networks for over 6000
sites PAN India with more than multiple materials and configurations at each site. The detailed analysis not only helped
us to cost the project correctly but also ensure on-time ordering and delivery of goods with a 98% on-time delivery
compared to our competition who had a performance of less than 80% (evident from the Late Delivery penalties
imposed on them by the customer)

Being responsible for alliances and procurement both, I had to create a balance between communicating the supplier
concerns to the management and the strict cost and performance targets of the management.
Having handled multiple roles under different business scenarios I believe that I have the right attitude to take up even
bigger leadership roles, for which I believe I have the necessary skill set and Pathways would be the right platform for
me to learn and demonstrate the same.

My resume is attached with this letter and I hope you would find me a suitable fit for the profile and that it is aptly
aligned to my long term goals.
