RainwaterDisposal:Verticalrainwaterpipesfromtheterracefloorwillemptyintoexternalstormwaterdrains
atgroundlevel.Rainwaterfrombalconiesandvariousfloorswillbeconnectedtothenearestpipeandemptied
totheexternalstormwaternetwork.
StormWaterDisposal:Allstormwaterwilltravelthroughtheundergrounddrainagesystemtotherainwater
harvesting system. Box drains with catch basins, to collect rainwater, will be located at the periphery of the
buildingandinopenareas.Excesswaterwillflowtotheexistingstormwaterdrainoutsidethepremises.
BasementDrainageSystem:Stormwater/carwashwaterwillbecollectedincatchbasinslocatedbelowthe
basementslabandconveyedbypipestotwoundergroundstormwatersumps.
RainwaterHarvestingSystem: Will comprise soak pits connected to box drains, storm water recharge cells
andwaterbodies.Thissystemwillhelptorechargetheaquifers/subsoil.
SolarLighting:Manyopenareaswillbeilluminatedbysolarpoweredlights.

depressionfromthepicturesthatIhaveseen.(Seethephotoshownbelow).Soalakehastobedugout
andfilledwithpumpedoutundergroundwater,thattoowhentheundergroundwaterlevelinBangalore
hasdrasticallygonedownduetotheindiscriminatediggingofborewells.
2.Rainwaterharvesting:Thoughonpaper,itseemstobeagoodideathattherainwatermaybeharvested
intothelakebythehelpofdrains,rechargecellsetc,inreality,Bangaloredoesnothaverainformostof
theyear.Ihonestlydontliketheconceptofcreatingalakeartificiallyandthenusingitasaecofeature.
3.Thencomesthequestionofmaintainingthelake.Itisnotmovingwaterandsograduallyitwill
accumulatemuckandstinkunlessitisregularlymaintained.MaintenancewillcostalotandImsureit
willbeuptotheresidentstopayahugemaintenancefee.
4.Elevations:Idontfindtheresidentialtowersveryimpressivelooking.Theylooklikeanyotherordinary
towers,theonlyfeatureofinterestbeingtheskybridge.Moreovertheyareacontinuouslineformingan
elongatedUshape.Thisdoesntallowformuchvisualinterestfromoutsideaswellasfromtheinside.
5.Icannotfathomwhythepromoterhasgivencreditonlytotheinternationalarchitectandnottothelocal
architectwhoplaysthemostimportantroleintheexecutionoftheproject.Theonlyreasoncouldbethat
HOKisaninternationallyacclaimedarchitecturalfirmandsodeservestobeassociatedwiththeproject!

Iaminvestorfrommumbai,ipitytheconditionsofresidentsnearmantrisquarebecauseofthehuge
crowdandmadtrafficallthroughouttheday.Eveninmumbaimallshavebecomeanuisanceforthe
residentsnearby.Asthenearbyareaofbrigadegatewayishugelypopulated,itsanybodysguesswhatthe
situationwillbe,plusametro.ResidentsofgatewayshouldstartpreparingforhighBP.

ThebiggestprobleminBangalorearetheroads.Surprisingly,mallsaresanctionedonnarrowroads.
OncesuchmalliscominguponBanaswadiroadwhichisacongested,narrowroadwithsmallshopson
eitherside.TheyhaverefusedtogiveuptheirspaceforwideningoftheroadforyearsandIdonotthink
theywilleverbudge.SoIwonderwhatwillhappenwhenthemallopens.
