KEISER AND KLEMIN ANNOUNCE PLANS TO SEEK RE-ELECTION

TO THE LEGISLATURE FOR DISTRICT 47 IN 2018

Representative George Keiser and Representative Lawrence (Larry) Klemin


[kle-meen] announced today that they plan to seek re-election to the North
Dakota Legislature in the 2018 election. The two Republican incumbents plan an
aggressive campaign to continue to represent the people of District 47.

Representative Keiser has served in the House of Representatives since 1993


and is the Chairman of the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee.
Under Keisers leadership as Chairman of IBL, significant initiatives and policies
have been developed which position North Dakota for continued growth and
economic success. He also serves on the House Energy and Natural Resources
Committee and served as President of the National Conference of Insurance
Legislators. He is currently Chairman of the interim Health Care Reform Review
Committee and serves on the interim Workers Compensation Review Committee.
Keiser, a former member of the Bismarck City Commission, is the owner of Quality
Printing in Bismarck.

Representative Klemin, a lawyer in Bismarck with Schweigert, Klemin & McBride, P.C.,
began his service in the House in 1999 and is Chairman of the House Political
Subdivisions Committee. He also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the
House Rules Committee, is the House Parliamentarian, and is Chairman of the House
Committee on Correction and Revision of the Journal. Klemin is Chairman of the North
Dakota Uniform Law Commission and has been appointed by the Legislature to serve
as a Commissioner on the National Uniform Law Commission. He also serves on the
State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision. He is currently the Vice
Chairman of the interim Judiciary Committee, and serves on the interim Government
Administration Committee and on the interim Justice Reinvestment Committee.

District 47 is located in northwest Bismarck. Representative Keiser and Representative


Klemin are leaders in the Legislature and will continue to put their experience to work
for the people of District 47.

The District 47 endorsing convention will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at
Century High School, with registration beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the endorsing
convention at 7:00 p.m. In addition to endorsing candidates for the Legislature,
delegates will be selected to attend the State Republican Convention in Grand Forks on
April 6 - 8, 2018.
