Application method

Attention to full and proper preparation is essential to successful grouting.

1) concrete surface preparation.

concrete surface should be clean, and free from dust, loose particles, cement laitance, oil
or any other contamination.

Rebar treatment:

As the projected slab is in cantilever position at throughout the length. One or two bottom
bar are cut at some places to fix the bracket will not affect the performance of the structural
load distribution, since the cantilever projected slabs are designed by considering the
hogging bending movement due to which tension reinforcement is required only at the top.

Mark the exposed rebars which are to be treated.

Clean the rebar with a wire brush to remove rust if any.
Apply one coat of Nitoprime Zincrich and leave it for curing. (Ref Annexure-1)
Zincrich shall be applied continuously by brush to maintain unbroken coat.

Base plate

The underside of base plate should be clean, and free of dust, rust, scale, oil or other
loosely adherent.
Levelling shims to be removed.base plate shall be located to line and level and held in
position to minimize movement of base plate during the period of grout.

2) Forework

Before fixing any formwork, ensure that area to be grouted is clean.

The formwork shall be designed so the grout must flow beneath the base plate to reach
the side further from pouring
The formwork itself must be constructed to be leak-proof, to provide any possible grout
loss.
The formwork shall be constructed in such a way as to keep the final unrestrained surface
area of the grout to a minimum, to avoid problems with cracking at a later stage.
Formwork will be coated with suitable mould release agent where necessary to enable
the easy removal of the shuttering.it should be done in such a way as to allow easy
stripping without damage to grout.

3) Mixing.

Grouting shall be done with Vetogrout CG518 or any other suitable approved
materials.(ref Annexure-3).
Mixing/using of material shall be maintained according to the manufacturers
recommendation.
For best result, a mechanically powered grout mixer should be used.
Water to be added is 11-13% by weight of grout and should be accurately measured in
the mixer.
The total contents of the vetogrout CG518 bag should be slowly added and continuous
mixing should be taken place for 5 min.this will ensure that the grout has a smooth even
consistency.

4) Placing.
It is essential that the machine mixing capacity, material supply, and labor availability is
adequate to enable the grouting operation to carried out continuously.
Apply one coat of Nitobond EP as a bonding agent. (Ref Annexure-2).
The grout shall be placed in accordance with good grouting practices and within the time
restraints of the selected product.
Grout can be placed in thickness from 10mm min to 100mm in single pour when used as
an underplate grout.
Continuous grout flow during the grouting operation is essential.sufficient grout must be
available prior to the start.
The mixed grout should be poured only from one side of the void to eliminate the
entrapment of air, the grout head is maintained at all times so that a Continuous grout
front is achieved.
When the grout reaches another side of formwork and rises above the underside of the
baseplate, pouring should continue slowly down until completed.

5) curing.
Once formwork is removed, all exposed faces of the grout should be thoroughly cured.
Apply curing compound immediately after removing formwork.
