One of our major concerns with this building is the column over-stress as the Factor of Safety (FoS) falls below
1.25. As per submitted documents from the consultant, some of the columns are found over-stressed due to
dead load only. We therefore suggest that immediate safety measures must be taken so that FoS for all the
columns is above 1.25. This could be achieved by immediately installing props.

please be advised on the following revisions in the submitted prop layout:

Fy changed hence prop requirement also increased. But propping load calculation and propping requirement
not provided for upper floors which is required. Provide prop calculation and layout for every floor where
required considering proper loading condition.

Therefore, the consultant must recommend immediate measures (with calculation) to be taken within 3
days of receiving this mail and the immediate report and drawing must be submitted to Accord within 26
November, 2017.

Also, please be informed about the following revisions to be made in the next submission:

Main Building:

1. Provide rebar sampling location along with picture for considering fy=60ksi.

Rebar test should be done for sample taken from grade beam.

Fy considered as 40ksi

Provide rebar exposed picture of C2, C3, C5, C6.

Not provided.

2. Provide tie beam location in footing cross section. Provide PL to EGL distance.
GB location shown in Plinth level. Tie beam still not shown in footing cross section. Provide individual cross
section for footings of eastern part and show the location of tie beam and grade beam clearly.

3. Provide LB cross section and long section.

Long section provided.

4. Assign below GB columns properly as per drawing.

5. Assign floor beams in accordance with drawing. Also, please assign the concrete strengths of east and
west portion beams correctly. FB7 beams are not assigned as per drawing.

Assigned. Provide beam adequacy check.

6. Assign slab property as membrane and revise the modifier. Slab concrete strength should be
considered for east side and west side properly.

Modifier still not changed.

7. Provide feasibility study of the proposed shear wall. Provide any reference that is applicable. Provide
footing adequacy check below the shear wall for the developed moments.

Provide detailed combined footing adequacy check over the with sample calculation considering horizontal
force and moment where applicable.

Provide proper tie welding detail for two-sided jacketing.

Provide 12mm diameter tie bar for bundled bar. Otherwise show tie detailing properly.

8. For proposed FEM of the building, RCC OHWT loads are not considered properly in FEM as per
architectural drawing shows.

Provided. Revise and increase periphery wall load considering 5 window height.
9. Provide master plan of all buildings in the factory premises.

Provided. Declaration letter for demolishing the building over 2nd floor has been provided.

Sheds:

1. Provide footing adequacy check for both sheds. Provide footing details below stair and mezzanine of
shed 1.

Provide footing adequacy check considering after-retrofitting condition.

In case of inadequate footing, provide roper remediation.

For shed-1, mezzanine floor is shown to be erected from ground floor level. In that case, provide ground floor
slab punching adequacy check below mezzanine columns.

2. Provide mezzanine floor short column detailing of shed-1.

No short column shown. Mezzanine floor columns connected by base plate with ground floor slab. Provide load
plan for mezzanine floor

3. Provide typical connection adequacy checks and base plate adequacy checks for both sheds.

Provide baseplate adequacy checks of mezzanine floor of shed-1

4. Please assign the column sections properly in FEM as per drawing suggests.

Column assignments still not ok. Check and revise SC, MB and rafter assignments.

5. Provide all connection details of shed-2. Release moments where shear connections are provided.
Revise retrofitting scheme if necessary.

Assign truss member properties in shed-2 for all truss members or provide end release properly. Provide pipe
column connection with ground floor slab.

Provide proposed bracing layout in retrofit drawing for shed-1.


Child Care Building:

1. Mention room usage in architectural plan and provide load plan for each floor.

Load plan not provided.

Please provide all these required documents both in hard copy and soft copy within 06 December 2017.
