Im an Italian-Jewish-American and jokingly remark that should I ever design a coat-of-arms it will include a
meatball and a matzo ball. Between baking and other activities I am writing my first tell-all book
Motorcycle of the Soul and a movie will follow. Hope you enjoy this recipe. Eat life before life eats you!

Ingredients:
8 Slices of Toasted White Bread
*For this recipe I use cheap white bread, leave the crust on, but might experiment with a better quality product later.
20 Lg. Chicken Eggs
2 Can Evaporated Milk
4 Cups Milk
2 Cup Sugar
1/2. Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
*Flavor to taste or substitute with vanilla beans, imitation vanilla, rum, and whatever you might prefer.
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
1 Cup Raisins
2 Sticks Unsalted Butter Cubed

Directions:
Butter or oil oblong glass baking pan. Break up toast with crust into small pieces.
Sprinkle bread pieces with cinnamon, raisins and cubes of butter. In mixing bowl,
beat eggs, evaporated milk, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla, and pour mixture over the
ingredients in the glass baking pan. *Note: All of the liquid will fit in standard
glass lasagna pan, but you might have to wait a few minutes for the bread to
absorb enough of the custard mixture before adding the remaining amount.
Heat oven to 350F. Place glass baking pan in oven above a pan of water or
within a larger pan using a trivet as a water bath. Bake two hours or until done.
