ABOUT THE COMPANY

SURIA ROAD TRADE (M) SDN.BHD formerly known as ROAD TRADE ENTERPRISE, was incorporated in
Malaysia with the main principal activities are in civil works to carrying out contractual business in relation to
roadwork, landscaping construction, drainage and infrastructure.

It was established by Mr.P.Mahalingam, its
Managing Director in 1985 as a sole proprietor. It
has progressed rapidly to be in its current position
which allowed Suria Road trade to concentrate
on its core business of roadworks, with particular
expertise in highways, Commercial and Residential,
thereby focusing its capabilities in delivering the
best possible finishes in this business for its clients.
It has taken a step forward by enlarging its scope
of activities through direct contract basis with
developers. Through this expansion program,
the company has increased the number of its
machineries and quarry suppliers. This enables the
company to provide excellent and effective services
in completing jobs within the allocated time period.
As part of our customer-centred philosophy, we work
hand-in hand with our clients to truly understand
and meet their needs as well as demands on their
urgencies and deadlines.

ROAD REHABILITATION
Road Rehabilitation is a principal activity undertaken by the SURIA ROAD TRADE (M) SDN.BHD.
Works carried out under road rehabilitation projects include upgrading, pavement repairing,
pavement recycling and overlaying. Suria Road Trade has vast experience in various techniques of
pavement rehabilitation, which includes both conventional techniques as well as advanced asphalt
technology in pavement recycling.

CONVENTIONAL PAVEMENT
Some of the conventional techniques utilised by the SURIA ROAD TRADE (M) SDN.BHD are:

Pavement Overlay or Resurfacing

This method is generally used for the general pavement strengthening where a layer
of new asphalt is laid on top of the old pavement.

Mild and Pave (Cut & Patch)

This is applicable where severe cracking of surface deterioration has occurred in the
pavement. A milling machine is used to remove the affected area before a new layer
of asphalt is laid in its place.

Advance Asphalt Technology

In keeping with its philosophy of staying abreast with changes in pavement technology,
Suria Road Trade has been successful in developing its technical expertise in various
advanced asphalt techniques, such as:

Porus Asphalt
This technique basically involves laying porous asphalt with a modified bituminous
binder. Due to its porous nature, water drains away from the pavement easily, thereby
significantly reducing ponding and splashing. It also exhibits better skid resistance
and lower noise levels.

ROAD MAINTENANCE

Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance involves repairing of potholes, maintenance of road shoulders,
roadside furniture, drainage systems, bridges and culverts, grass cutting, landscaping
on protocol roads and routine inspection.

Periodic Maintenance
Periodic maintenance involves repair, replacement and installation of existing
pavement, roadside furniture and drain.
