Description of involvement and reflection: We visited two families that day and we were met by two other specialist one was a speech therapist and one was a sign language specialist. They work together to improve speech of a two-year-old that has a rare disorder that causes her to be fed by a feeding tube and unable to communicate of what she wants. Date of Actual Involvement: 10/25/17 d. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This event was about providing teachers a way for children to learn their phonetic awareness of their letters. The AEA provided books and other assessment tools for teachers to use to give children knowledge and interest in reading books. It also included, that children would need to know how to treat a book when they read a book. 3. Experience/Activity: Asking Questions about the agency and Job Description c. Date of Actual Involvement: 10/25/17 d. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This event involved interviewing my site supervisor about the type of job she does and how she impacts families within the job. This gave me a chance to learn about how the agency works as with families. She also, gave a perspective about how families do get nervous when the AEA starts helping them when their child is struggling. 4. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This experience is about how a hearing specialist helps deaf, hearing impaired and hard of hearing children. She also has three special machines that detects anything out of the normal. When the families came in to get their children screened for say fluid in the ear and contacting the doctor for families. 5. To become familiar with the persona/l policies of this program a. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This event included an in- service of all the staff on the Pocahontas site. It summarized how they are including principles in IEP meeting in the school and how they need to step up their responsibility on being a principle of a school with children that need AEA services. They will be excluded from a meeting if they dont get involved as an administrator should for the children in the school district. 6. Date of Actual Involvement: 10/24/17 d. Description of Involvement and Reflection: When this event occurred when I was asking questions about how she fits on the leadership board or ladder of the AEA. She told me that there is a person over each department and how each head department person checks up on each other by driving to different Prairie Lakes AEA to check with the early childhood associates. She also, has the head person above come and talk to her when they do their check up on her. 7. To participate in personal & professional staff development associate with this program a. Dates Planned: 11/7/17 b. Experience/Activity: Planning a Math Session for Early Childhood Educators c. Date of Actual Involvement: 11/7/17 d. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This event included planning a session that includes groups of teachers from different districts that the AEA supports or covers. We had to plan activities to get the educators involved of the learning they might need to help children understand the concepts of math. They developed a schedule on which they could plan each activity so they would have enough time for them to do each activity and have lunch. 8. To attend & be involved in staff-in-services a. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This in-service was also about how each department could work together to provide a better to work together as a whole department instead of working separately. Description of Involvement and Reflection: This event was about how we developed a plan with two other childhood specialists at the AEA. While Jessica and the first Early Childhood Specialist were taking about how they were going to include the previous information they learned about last time. They also wanted to include new information about how the gold standards apply to what they teach day to day. 10. To learn & use appropriate professional behavior a. Dates Planned: 11/21/17 b. Experience/Activity: Putting together Binders for Early Childhood Educators c. Date of Actual Involvement: 11/21/17 d. Description of Involvement and Reflection: When this event happened, I started to put together binders filled with information for the home visitors to give to the families as a resource if they are having trouble when they arent there. They also can use it for an assessment tool for some developmental delays they might see as a parent when the home visitor isnt there too.
