Preparations are winding up, and have gone very
well so far. We look forward to sharing this exciting
time with you and trust that you will have an
enjoyable stay and a memorable experience. We
count on your usual cooperation and understanding
as we work together to create another successful
event.

Kindly therefore take time to read it carefully and

3. MEMORIALS
Please remember:
You must hand in eight (8) copies of each
memorial (8 x Applicant & 8 x Respondent) when
you register in Pretoria on 3 October 2016.
Carry memorials in your hand luggage.
No printing or photocopying facilities will be
available at registration.
4. ITINERARIES
Only participants who have communicated their
travel details to the organisers will be met on arrival
in Johannesburg. If you have not already done so
and wish to be met on arrival, kindly contact the
organisers urgently to try to make alternative
arrangements.
5. FLIGHT DELAYS OR CANCELLATIONS
If your flight is delayed or cancelled, please call the
organisers as soon as possible with the new arrival
details in Johannesburg (date, time, flight and where
from).
6. RECONFIRMATION OF AIR TICKETS
It is your responsibility to reconfirm your return ticket
if necessary. The organisers will not be responsible
should participants be unable to travel on account of
un-reconfirmed flights.
7. ARRIVAL IN JOHANNESBURG
Participants will be met on arrival at OR Tambo
International Airport. Members of the local organising
team will be waiting for you at the International
Arrivals area. They will be holding copies of the 2016
Moot poster. Do not take a taxi.

4. ITINRAIRES
Seuls les participants qui ont communiqu leur
itinraire de voyage aux organisateurs seront
accueillis leur arrive Johannesburg. Si vous
navez pas encore pris ces dispositions, contactez
durgence les organisateurs pour dautres
dispositions.
5. VOLS RETARDS ET ANNULS
En cas de retard ou dannulation de votre vol,
contactez immdiatement les organisateurs et avec
le nouvel itinraire darrive Johannesburg (date,
heure, vol et provenance).
6. RECONFIRMATION DES BILLETS
Le cas chant, vous devez reconfirmer votre billet
davion vous-mme. Les organisateurs dclinent
toute responsabilit si vous ne pouvez pas voyager
parce que nous ne laurez pas fait.
7. ARRIVE A JOHANNESBURG
Les participants seront accueillis laroport
international OR Tambo par des membres de
lquipe locale dorganisation, dans le hall des
arrives. Ils auront en main laffiche du Concours
2016. Ne prenez pas un taxi.
 8. EXCURSION
The excursion will be to Sun City:

Situated in Nort-West Province, Sun City is an
internationally recognised resort.
Moot participants will be able to access the Casino,
the water Cascades (involving water rides) and the
Valley of the Waves (with a man-made beach and
Lazy River).
At 13:00, an open-air lunch will be served in the
beautiful surroundings of the Valley of the Waves.
After lunch, Moot participants will be welcome to
enjoy all kinds of water fun. Please remember your
swimming costume, towel, hat, slippers and sunblock
cream if necessary).
9. IMMIGRATION, PASSPORTS AND VISAS
We trust that all participants who need a visa have by
now secured their visas or have applied for them and
will collect them before departure. If you are unsure
about the visa requirements for your country, please
visit the Department of Home Affaires website at:

10. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Hotel accommodation will be provided in single
rooms for Faculty Representatives and double rooms
for students. The organisers will only cover the costs
of the room and meals as indicated on the
programme. All other costs will be borne by
participants (such as room service, bar (including
mini-bar), telephone, laundry etc.)
Details regarding meals will be indicated on the
programme.
11. SECURITY
The organisers of the Moot Competition will take all
necessary measures to ensure the safety and
security of Moot participants during their stay in
South Africa. Participants are nevertheless required
to take the necessary precautions they would in any
other country they were visiting.

un complexe touristique mondialement reconnu.
Les participants du Concours Africain poiurront
accede au Casino, aux Cascades (avec des jeux
aquatiques), et la Valle des Vagues (avec une
plage et la Rivire Paresseuse).
A 13:00, un djeuner en plein air sera servi dans le
cadre magnifique de la Valle des Vagues.
Les participants pourront alors profiter de toutes
sortes dactivit aquatiques. Noubliez pas votre
costume de bain, serviette, chapeau, babouches et
lotion solaire le cas chant.
9. IMMIGRATION, PASSEPORTS ET VISAS
Nous supposons que tous les participants ayant
besoin dun visa lont dj obtenu ou sont sur le
point de les obtenir. Si vous vous doutez de la
ncessit dobtenir un visa, visitez le site du
Ministre de lIntrieur de lAfrique du Sud
10. HBERGEMENT ET RESTAURATION
Les tudiants sont logs en chambre double et les
Reprsentants de Facult en chambre simple. Les
organisateurs ne paient que la chambre et les repas,
tel quindiqu sur le programme. Tout autre frais est
la charge des participants (service de chambre,
bar (y compris mini-bar), tlphone, pressing, etc.)
Les dtails concernant les repas seront indiqus sur
le programme.
11. SCURIT
Les organisateurs du Concours Africain prendront
toutes les dispositions ncessaires pour assurer la
scurit des participants pendant leur sjour en
Afrique du Sud. Cependant les participants doivent
prendre les mmes prcautions quils prendraient
dans nimporte quel autre pays.

 For the very first time, the final of the Moot
Competition will be streamed live on Youtube.
Share your Moot experiences with your friends and
family.
17. STUDENT DEMONSTRATIONS
As you have probably heard, South African
Universities have recently been experiencing a wave
of student protests. The University of Pretoria will be
closed for academic holidays during the Moot, so we
do not anticipate any difficulties.
In light of this evolving situation, the Moot organisers
have pre-emptively secured excellent alternative
venues on the Sports Campus, where daily activities
are proceeding unhindered.
All other Moot events were, in any event, scheduled
to take place at locations outside the University of
Pretoria.
All venues will be clearly indicated in the final
programme, which will be published before the end of
this week.
The organisers of the Moot Competition would like to
assure all participants that there are no safety
concerns linked to the student protests. Preparations
are in the final stage, and going very well.

17. MANISFESTATIONS ESTUDIANTINES
Comme vous l'avez probablement entendu, les
universits sud-africaines ont rcemment connu des
protestations estudiantines. Nous nanticipons pas
de difficults, lUniversit de Pretoria tant ferme
pour les vacances aux dates du Concours
Compte tenu de cette situation en volution, les
organisateurs du Concours ont, titre prventif,
rserv dexcellents locaux alternatifs sur le campus
sportif, o les activits quotidiennes se droulent
sans entrave.
Tous les autres vnements du Concours devaient,
en tout tat de cause, se tenir hors de l'Universit de
Pretoria.
Tous les lieux seront clairement indiqus dans le
programme final, qui sera publi avant la fin de cette
semaine.
Les organisateurs du Concours souhaitent par la
prsente lettre assurer tous les participants qu'il n'y
a pas de problmes de scurit lis aux
manifestations estudiantines. Les prparatifs sont en
phase finale, et avancent trs bien.
