RESUMO
Objetivo: Verificar a relao entre qualidade de sono, depresso e ansiedade em universitrios dos ltimos
semestres de cursos da rea da sade. Mtodo: Participaram 49 universitrios de uma instituio privada da
regio do Grande ABC, So Paulo, sendo 36 mulheres e 13 homens, idade mdia de 25,2 anos (5,0).
Os instrumentos utilizados foram: ndice de Qualidade de Sono de Pittsburgh-BR (IQSP-BR), Inventrio de
Depresso de Beck (IDB) e Inventrio de Ansiedade Trao-Estado (IDATE). Resultados: 100% dos
universitrios foram classificados como maus dormidores pelo IQSP-BR. Houve correlao positiva
estatisticamente significante entre os resultados do IQSP-BR e do IDB (p=0,027; r=0,278). O mesmo
ocorreu entre IDATE-Trao e IDB (p=0,007; r=0,350). Concluso: H prejuzo no sono destes universitrios,
sendo que quanto pior a qualidade do sono, mais altos os nveis de depresso, assim como a relao entre
presena de nveis de trao de ansiedade e de depresso.

ABSTRACT
Objective: To verify the relationship between sleep quality, depression and anxiety in university students of last
semesters in health areas courses. Method: 49 students of a private institution in the region of Grande ABC,
So Paulo, with 36 women and 13 men, mean age of 25.2 years ( 5.0). Method: The instruments used
were: the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index-BR (PSQI-BR), Beck Inventory Depression (BDI) and Spielbergs State-
Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Results: 100% of the sample was classified as poor sleepers. Positive relationship
statistical significant occurred between PSQI-BR/BDI (p=0.027; r=0.278) and STAI trait/BDI (p=0.007;
r=0.350). Conclusion: Totally the sample was classified as poor sleeper. There was a positive relationship
between sleep quality-symptoms of depression as well as anxiety trait-symptoms of depression.
