1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this method statement is to describe the procedure to be followed for
carrying out rectification of existing slab and grouting of catwalk bracket at faade
envelope.

2. SCOPE

The scope of this document covers but not limited to rebar treatment, grouting within the
scope of work.
1. Grouting the base plate
2. Concrete slab extension.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 Construction Manager

The Construction Manager is overall responsible for the implementation of method


statement to ensure that the team of engineers and foremen are aware of the procedure and
to ensure that all resources (men, material, and equipment) are available on time to carry out
the work as planned, according to the specifications & drawings. Also, ensure the
availability of latest/updated documents and timely inspection at every stage of work.

4.2 Site Engineer

To ensure work is carried out according to the specification & drawings and provide all
necessary information and distribute the responsibilities to his construction team.
Ensure and monitor that the work progresses in accordance with the program and report
the same to the construction manager. Co-ordinate with the safety officer to ensure that
the works are carried out in a safe working practice.
Co-ordinate with the QA/QC engineer and initiate the inspection for the finished works.
Ensure that an efficient daily progress has been obtained from all the equipment and
manpower engaged in the work and check the same against the daily report received
from the foreman. Pass all the current/revised information to the foreman and ensure that
its being carried out properly.
Co-ordinate with the surveyor and plan the survey works in advance as per the work
sequence.

4.3 QA/QC Engineer

Ensure that all the works are carried out as per the related drawings and specifications.
Perform process inspection and coordinate with site engineer and consultants from time
to time inspection.
Maintain inspection and test records complete for any future reference.

4.4 Safety officer

Ensure the implementation of all safety measures in accordance with the HSE plan and
everybody aware of it for its proper implementation.
Ensure all the implemented safety measures are adequate to maintain the safe working
on the site.
Inspect all the site activities and train the persons to prevent accidents and its proper
reporting to the construction manager and the client. Ensure that the site is maintained
clean and tidy.

4.5 Foreman

Carrying out the work according to the specification and instruction. Properly distribute
all the available resources in coordination with the site engineer on a daily basis.
Daily reports of the works achieved and coordinate for the future planning with the site
engineer.
Incorporate all the QC and safety requirements as requested by the concerned engineer.
If met with any type of unforeseen incidents report to the site engineer immediately.

5. MATERIAL REQUIRED

Nitoprime Zincrich
Nitobond EP
Vetogrout CG518 or equivalent.
Concrete grade C40

6. Case 1: Catwalk base plate grouting:

Full-scale inspection/visual survey of all baseplates installed on site for the catwalk with
photographic evidence of current site conditions is done and mapping of all baseplates
on plan with cross-references to images taken in the visual survey is attached below.
Maximum chipping is 50mm as per site condition
A design calculation is carried out using current site condition with a gap of 50mm
between baseplate and slab is also attached.
A pullout test is carried by Fischer at different location with different edge distance and
varying embedded depth is also attached below.
