True or False: Google assumes that if you search for dogs and cats that you are

True.

Google as widely documented analyzes the words you type in, which could be
keywords, subjects. In this case Dogs AND cats bring up pages regarding those
particular keywords as google attempted to find pages with relevant information

based on the string of words against the google index.

It then matches the search results, ranks them based on internal scoring and
attempts to return the most valuable information first and as the results get
longer by page number less the results match to the context of the original
search.

Define Automatic Word stemming? In search engines, it is used to return results


based on their word stem or base/root form. Googles search treats words with
the same root/base/stem as synonyms. Google has openly stated that the results
of using this technology as limited.

What is a stop word? There are several such as like, the, an, a, of, or, many
these are generally ignored by most search engines. They are actually not good
for SEO, should be avoided.

Go into Advanced search and Preferences and set a strict Safe search setting and
do a print screen. Explain what this does.

Safe Search is used to filter out/avoid sexually explicit content.

Googles image search is especially useful when searching for a particular size.
If you want an image for the web, you would like to keep the images small. But
if you want an image for a presentation or for print where you want to display it
in a nice resolution, you will want a large image. Do a Google Advanced search
for a small image of anything of your choice in either a .jpg or .png and in Black
and White. Put your mouse over the picture and look for something around
200x300 resolution. Do a print screen of your results.

Go to www.google.com/alerts/ and create an alert for something that you would


like to follow. You could follow a news event, a hobby you are interested in, a
movie star, a sport or team you are interested it or the stock market. Have them
sent it to your G-mail as often as you like. Do a print screen of this alert page that
you create.

may accept research only from certified sources or scholars. Go to
scholar.google.com and do an advanced search for any articles written by the
scholar Ronald B. Adler. What is his field of study and what are some of his

Although Ive never personally red these books, my wife has and Ive been
forced to see the movies with her. Initially I went for Harry Potter but I felt this
book was such a huge deal that Ill go with it. Its got very positive reviews on
here 8 (5 star) and 1(3 star) review.

Goggles. This may be something that you would enjoy. After I went to
Europe, I couldnt tell where some of the pictures were from. It helped me
identify what country or city where it was taken. Then when I put it in a photo
book, I could identify it better. Discuss the value of this app to you. Would you
use it?

I personally wouldnt use it because the time it takes to obtain a photo I could have
already searched for the subject. Also, as an Apple user I dont like to use anything
Google related on the other hand, if you were looking for something
obscure and you arent sure of the name or subject it would be useful.

where you will post samples of your work. Make sure that you cite where you
get your information. Use links to other web pages. You can add videos,
pictures or other information about other search engines if you like. You can
discuss what you like or dislike about the search engines or something that you
