Scenario:

I want my first grade students to have clear understanding of even and odd numbers.

Content:

Math

1st Grade

Goal:

At the end of the lesson, the children will have general understanding and ability to identifying
even and odd numbers.

ASSURE MODEL

Analyze Learners

General Characteristics of my students, they are in the first grade at the age of 6 years old. Their
knowledge is basic near to non in even and odd numbers. Before starting this model I have asked
what is even and odd numbers and let my students do brainstorming and share their ideas.

State Standards and Objectives

Standards for 1st graders curriculum and technology

The primary focal areas in 1st grade are understanding, identifying and modelling the
even and odd numbers for their further learnings.

(A) Students develop fundamental concepts about even and odd numbers. Students know
name of the numbers and know basics about them. Students apply the principles of
even and odd numbers.
(B) Students use meanings of number to create strategies for identifying the even and odd
numbers in given exercises.
(C) Students identify characteristics of even and odd numbers easily.

Select strategies, technology, media and materials


Selecting Strategies, I will find fun videos that will capture students attention and have quizzes
to help them understand. And will also use a software that will provide even and odd exercises
fun online.

Selecting technology and media: Videos, Web 2.0 tools

Utilizing technology, media and materials

Preview the technology. Media and materials: I will preview the clip through projector and
selecting materials for hands on activity.

Prepare the technology, media and material.

Prepare the environment: I will set up their desk in a way that every child has their space to work
and see the projector.

Prepare the learners: I will introduce to the class the topic even and odd numbers and what will
we do to cover the materials.

Require learner participation: I will give 2 points on each student who answer my question
regarding the class topic.

Evaluate and Revise

I will see how many of my students understand and learned well the covered material in class.
Observe them on how they are doing with this new knowledge and too see if I can improve
anything.
