Homelessness Youth

Background

Homeless youth is a plan of important for Homelessness youth project. Homelessness


youths are typically defined as unaccompanied youth ages 12 and older and up to age 17, 21,
or 24 who are without family support and who are living in shelters, on the streets, in cars or
vacant buildings, or who living in other unstable circumstances. This project find out the reason
to lead youths become homelessness.
According to The State of Utah Department of Workforce Services, Housing and community
Services Offices are pleased to present the 2016 comprehensive report on Homelessness in
Utah.The causes of homelessness among youth falls into three main reason following

Issue
Family problems The primary cause of youth homelessness is family
dysfunction in the form of parental neglect,
physical or sexual abuse, family substance abuse
and family violence. There are still some young
people because
they need help. The most recent of these
50% youth are male and 50% being female
and until 68% at age 15 to 17.
Moreover,There are approximately 1.3
million homeless youth living including
Utah unsupervised on the streets, in
abandoned buildings, with friends or with
strangers. Homeless youths are at a higher
risk for physical abuse, sexual
exploitation, mental health disabilities, substance
abuse, and death.

Economic problems When their families suffer financial crises resulting


from lack of affordable housing, limited
employment opportunities, insufficient wages, no
medical insurance, or inadequate welfare benefits.
Around salt lake of Utah, runaway and homeless
youth organizations are facing the challenge of
accommodating more youth as a result of the
current economic downturn that forces more young
people to the streets.

Transitions from foster Youths who become homeless after aging out of
care and other public foster care appear to experience many of the same
problems as other homeless youths and young
systems:
adults at age 8 to older with reasons high rates of
mental health disorders, a high risk of physical or
sexual victimization, and a lack of access to health
care services.

Proposed Solution

Even though Utah is one of the most conservative states in the nation, it has become a
leader in progressive policies meant to help the homeless. Utah has become a model for

towns, cities and states across the nation.

Homelessness youth project has plan to help and appeal to somebodys generosity at the
youth Resource Center with serving Homelessness youth age 15 to young older with
meals, shower, laundry, and other basic items include clothing and some personal care
items. There were also many youths be able to gain employment or some youth were be
reunited with families. However, some sponsors would to assisted each youth in achieving

Through this conversation, Homelessness youth project makes a comprehensive


individual assessment of the youths situation and needs and creates a case
management plan accordingly. This assessment includes the following information:

Basic needs clothing, school supplies, hygiene supplies, food, etc.


Educational and enrollment status including transportation, shelter, transfer
requests, etc.

Need for job training, education, shelter for these youths to end youth
homelessness.
Needs physical health, mental health, and drug, alcohol treatment.

Fund raising will help in planning for the future,

Homelessness Youth Project will be founded in 2017 in response to the growing critical
needs of homeless youth in Utah. With a plan to help youth build strong foundations for
personal and educational success to end homelessness youth in many other
communities both locally and nationally, Utah.
