Brief instructions
of how to use the 1.. Go to http://popplet.com/
tool 2.. Login by clicking login on the top right corner of the screen
3.. *Before using the tool the instructor has to log in or create an
account for the students using their email if the students are under 12*
4.. After signing up be sure to choose the free plan on the left of the new
screen and click sign me up
5.. You will now see a white screen with a blue dialogue box in the
center of the scree, from that box an arrow will be point to a smaller box

7.. The next screen will have introductory feature to your popplet such
as the title and what color you want your popplet to be.
8.. You are now ready to create and design your popplet.
9.. The instructions provided by the website are very thorough.
10.. New bubbles in your popplet are created by randomly clicking
anywhere on your blank screen.
11.. From those bubbles you will have the option of incorporating
pictures, words, and linking your bubbles.
The student can use popplet through this objective by each selecting a
word and then making a bubble map from that one word. Branching off
of that word will be its definition, a picture associated with it, and its
personal relation to the student through a sentence or phrase.
Science 1.4 The student will investigate and understand that plants
have basic life needs and functional parts and can be
classified according to certain characteristics. Key concepts

a) plants need nutrients, air, water, light, and a place to
grow;
b) basic parts of plants; and
c) plants can be classified based on a variety of
characteristics.
Incorporating this tool with this objective, students will be put into small groups
and each assigned a plant. The plant will be the center of the bubble map and
branching from it students can elaborate on the basic needs of their given plant.

specific area and having them label rivers, mountains and other areas with the tools
provided by the site.

white board as an interactive story board where they could draw out important
plot from the story.

b.) Shapes and forms of objects
Bubbl.us can be incorporated into this SOL by having students categorize familiar objects
(such as their household items) by color or shape. The students can be put into groups
according to similarities with these shapes, colors, or items.

c.) Revise by adding descriptive words when writing about people, places, things,
and events.
Bubbl.us can be incorporated into this SOL by having students create a story and match it
with the tool. The students can then come together with similarities in their stories.

The student will compare the lives and contributions of three American Indian cultures of
the past and present, with emphasis on the Powhatan of the Eastern Woodlands, the
Lakota of the Plains, and the Pueblo peoples of the Southwest.
Bubbl.us can be incorporated into this SOL by putting students in groups and having them
create a story about American Indian Tribes that they are assigned. Then they can
incorporate the story into the tool within these groups, being sure to incorporate
important facts of each tribe such as; their occupation, homes and much more.

This tool is basically a digital mind-dumping brain map which is great for kids
who write slow or work faster with computers.
Negatives:
Only one person is allowed to edit a map at a time.
There are many limitations and hindrances with the tools customization option.
The free plan with the website limits how man y maps a student can create.
