OBJECTIVE
To use different way to find
resultant and equilibrant

To know the importance

of vector force

To understand more about

vector and how to calculate

To prove reaction
and action
INTRODUCTION
Vectors quantity have both
magnitude and direction
example of vectors
are forced, velocity, and
acceleration. A vector
represented by an arrow.
The sum of two or more
vectors is called Resultant
and the Equilibrant is the
opposite direction of
Resultant. Since the sum of
the two vectors is zero and an
object acted upon by these two forces would be
in equilibrium.

This experiment is about adding vector, learn

how parallelogram and
polygon are formed,
and understand about
resultant and equilibrant and
how to find them.
MATERIALS
force table

rope

pulley hanging masses

central ring
SET UP
PROCEDURES
Prepare materials for the experiment

Set the force table to be balance

Put the center ring on the center of force

table

Give the first pulley as F1 and the second

pulley is F2

Label and hang the 100g of mass to the

F1 at 30 degrees to the North of East and
100g to F2 at 45 degrees to the North of
West.

Find the resultant by trying to make the

center rings balance and label it as F3

Do the same as the step5 and add more

pulley which is F3 25 degree to the South
of West

Find the resultant by

balance the center ring
and label as F4

Calculate F3 and F4
DATA & RESULT
ANALYSIS

After we did the experiment, we can notice that

magnitude and direction of the resultant and
equilibrant depend on the two vectors. As you
can see from the data table, we have the same
magnitude and direction of vectors so we have
the same resultant and equilibrant for both data
table. It shows that, If one of the vectors change
the resultant and equilibrant will change too.

CONCLUSION
Based on the experiment, we use force table
experiment to find the resultant of the two vectors and
we can prove and find that resultant is equal to the
equilibrant but in the opposite direction. We knew
more what resultant and equilibrant are. Furthermore,
this experiment shows the connection between angles
and vectors. We understand how the method
parallelogram and polygon works. Also, we learned
that length of the resultant and the equilibrant always
the same, but in a different direction. If the length of
resultant is 20 to the north, so the length of the
equilibrant is 20 but to the south. This experiment can
help us to understand more about vectors. So we think
that we will apply this idea of doing vector experiment
to our math class by using the different method to find
the answer of the vector.
RECOMMENDATION
We moved the force table because
we wanted to set the pulley and to
do the experiment easier. Because of
this, the force table wasnt balance.
We will improve by awaring more
about it.

We set up the pulley too tight so next

time we will set up more loosely to
move them easier and neat.
