allowing access to all equipment and tools in the room.

Requirements & Constraints:

Needs to fit 20 students and 1 teacher

3 row layout
Expanding into commons area
Rectangular tables
Purchasing new tables
Imagine:

Choosing the Best Design: We came up with two designs to

decide from.

1. Three Sided Square

Good for discussions and Presentations
Didnt accommodate 20 students
Hard to get access to cabinets
Doesnt include TVs

2. Three rows
Accommodates 20 students
Cabinets are easily accessible
TVs can be moved in and out when needed
Tight space between rows

We Decided on number 2 because it would fit the whole class and

would allow for access to the cabinets.

How did it work?
Plan allowed for walking space between aisles
Teacher can access cabinets from from front of the classroom near white
board and through the isles

Seating arrangement can hold 6 students per row with 2 on the sides
Students will move at the side on days when the smaller TVs will need

Allows access to board and the cabinets Does not expand further than a
Maintains clear aisles foot into the commons
Fire escape is accessible

Improvements

Order some bar stool style chairs for the

classroom
Ensure that Ms. Johnson has adequate
space at her desk
Conclusion:

Our design utilizes a traditional classroom approach and applies it

to a small classroom setting. It provides enough space for ease of
access and encourages easy instruction for the teacher in order to
present concepts more clearly to students. Options such as these
definitely make this design an ideal one!
