EQ: How do mental cognition, muscle memory, and dexterity affect ones precision when s/he
is required to use fine motor skills to complete a task?
I. Essential Question:
In your response, you need to include the following:
Explain what mental cognition is and how ones precision can be directly affected if one is
mentally impaired.
Explain what muscle memory is and how it may affect ones precision in completing a task.
Mental cognition, muscle memory, and dexterity affect ones precision when s/he
is required to use fine motor skills to complete a task. Mental cognition is the mental
processes involved in gaining knowledge and comprehension, muscle memory is when your
muscles memorize a certain movement in completing a task, and dexterity is how skilled your
muscles are at completing a task. These processes include thinking, knowing, remembering,
judging and problem-solving. So if ones mental cognition were to be impaired, the their
precision can be directly affected like a slight but noticeable and measurable decline in cognitive
abilities, including memory and thinking skills. A person with MCI(Mild Cognitive Impairment) is
at an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's or another dementia. Mental cognition, muscle
memory, and dexterity can affect ones precision when required to use fine motor skills to
complete a task.

1a. Identify which task you demonstrated the most precision in when completing using your
dominant hand and support your response using data and video evidence.
I demonstrated the most precision in when completing using your dominant hand was
cutting the paper(T1:21 T2:21).
