(consider prior learning, motivation, overview and the presentation of the learning outcome)
Check prior learning and motivation:
I will check their understanding and motivate them first by showing and asking them about the
addition and subtraction signs.
Then we will play the + and game, where they will represent the signs by their hands.
So when I say addition they close their hands together and when I say subtraction they open
their hands.
Overview of the learning outcome: (the ducks story)
by using a plastic sensory tub and 8 ducks I will introduce to them the subtraction from 8 , and
thats by saying for them a short story with many repetitions.
The story will be like; 8 little ducks went swimming one day, over the hills and far away. Mother
duck said ' quack quack quack' but only 7 ducks come back.. So the students will be repeating
and singing with me there was 8 ducks and one more duck got lost and we will subtract one
duck during each verse. The numbers 1 to 8 will be on the board and each time we sing the verse
they will remove one number until the duck mother be alone.

Practice Activities (use groupings as required) Time:__________________

Describe the activities and what the students will be doing. Consider differentiated activities.

Describe here what the teacher will be doing during the practice activities

Activity 1 ( before guided math) Activity 2

I will say for the students that we will play a lot group1
of math games today so they have to take their there will be 3 activities with same outcomes.

her ability. Green for high, yellow for medium the ice-cream flavors.
and red for low. Group 2
there will be 3 different activities but the same
after that I will be introducing for them the rules concepts.
and give them instructions about each activity. The students here will use the ballon to
represent the answers and they will stick them
on the wall by using electricity from their hair,
which will combine math and science.
Group3
in this section they will play with a subtraction
game with the I-pad and watch a video.
Group 4
the students will solve subtraction questions
and I will make sure that they understand so I
will use my checklist to record their names and
performance.

Activity 3 Activity 4
I will solve the first 4 questions on the board
then they will complete the rest of them.

Closing/ Conclusion: Time: ______________________

Consider a review of what the students did during the practice activities and ensure that all
students are assessed for learning.

In a jar with different colors of balls each group will chose one and inside the ball there is HOTS
questions. They will have 2 minutes to think and discuss with the group.
After we finish the students will count the points on their reward system then the highest group
will take gifts.

Recommendations / future personal targets / areas of focus

the purpose of this lesson is to teach them how to subtract numbers from the number 8. the
students were super active and excited because it was all about playing with numbers with
different activities for different levels, moreover they got the opportunity to play with technology
for the first time in the class.
The future recommendation is to save my time and that by prepare and distribute the materials for
the groups on their tables before the class start. Also to take at least 2 classes to do the guided
math because it need long time so each student have the chance to try all the activities.

Order of students according to their abilities.

I've classified the students by giving them 3 different colors of bracelet with
positive words.
Red bracelet: for low ability students.
Yellow bracelet: for medium ability students.
Green bracelet: for high ability students.
