The Philippine Legislators’ Committee on
Population and Development Foundation,
Inc. (PLCPD) is a non-stock, nonprofit,
membership-type organization
established in September 1989 by a
group of progressive legislators from the
Senate and House of Representatives.

PLCPD primarily works within the halls of


Philippine Congress, developing policy
champions and generating viable,
responsive, and people-centered public
policies on population and human
development.

Mechanics

• The contest is open to all print,


broadcast, online, and photo
journalists nationwide. Entries should
have been published between August
16, 2008 and September 15, 2009 in a
publication (print or online) that has
been in existence for at least one
year. Deadline for submission of
entries is September 26, 2009.
Mechanics
• In the context of the approaching
Millennium Development Goals
(MDGs) deadline on 2015, the
International Conference on
Population and Development (ICPD)
15th year celebration, and the
upcoming 2010 elections, we would
like to see articles that stress the
importance of the MDGs and the ICPD
as electoral issues that must be put in
the public agenda.
