New Website Platform:

For the last year we have been developing a new website platform for Lewis County. We are done with
the design and data migration phase of the process and have launched the new site. The website will be
ever changing so we will continue to work on improving its use and accessibility for County Departments
and the residents of Lewis County.

The high-level goals of the website project were;

1. Improve the look of the website to make it more modern, and reflect the economic growth that is
happening in Lewis County. Using a photo-rich design, photography will add improved visual
impact. This site will aim to be a government based and civic minded site and not duplicate any efforts
being made by the IDA or the Chamber of Commerce. We will link to those agencies when
appropriate.

2. Make the website more accessible, using the Bootstrap (www.getbootstrap.com) mobile framework.
Provide a platform that supports modern needs and offer mobile-ready features for today's website
visitors. It is important to have a mobile/responsive framework for tablets and smartphones, which
make up roughly half of all Internet users.

3. Offer more services to Lewis County residents, and the various audiences that will use the website,
including visitors, and businesses that may need permitting forms on the website.

4. Decentralize management of the website from the IT Department, to the individual Departments who
are interested in learning the platform and performing updates on their own pages. IT will provide
training and support for them to perform these tasks.

5. Evolve the website by running it on a cloud platform that gets constant updates and new features,
without having to install software.

6. Continue to evolve the website using suggestions from County Departments and the residents of
Lewis County to ensure the information is current and useful to visitors of the website. Included on the
site is a contact form where suggestions can be easily submitted by end users.

Respectfully,

Adam P. Zehr
