USER MANUAL

FINWING TECHNOLOGY

PATENT PENDING
Please read through the manual carefully before installation and flying

This manual aims to help direct the user on how to build the Airtitan RC plane.
The Airtitan is not recommended for beginners and is recommended for those with previous RC/FPV
build and flight experience.
Please visit the Finwing official website for additional highlighted features, functions, and more.

Warning:

1 . This model airplane is not a toy , not recommended for children under 14 years old ,

2. Be cautious and prepared while flying this plane as a range of issues could lead to a crash

including the environment/weather, speed, pilot error, improper building/testing,

interference or other component failures .

3. Flying field: Choose an adequate flying space at least 100 meters long/wide and in an unpopulated

and non-built up area for safe flying. This includes avoiding flying over cities or other populated areas.

4. Please don't fly this model airplane in bad weather including rainy and/or windy environments.

5. Remember to unplug your flight/video battery when not in use to avoid any interference to others

who might be on similar channels.

6. Please remember switch on the transmitter first before connecting the battery, and disconnect

the battery first before switching off your transmitter.

7. Keep away from the propeller when the Airtitan is powered as it can be dangerous and could

lead to injury. Keep the powered plane away from children at all times to avoid any accidents or injury.

The Tail-boom has been split from the fuselage in order to fit into a smaller package
that will also help to save on overall shipping costs.
Please be patient to read through the manual before installation

Finwing Airtitan Double - Deck Aircraft

Specifications : < Kit + Electronics Combo >
Wingspan : 2520mm | 99.2inch
Customized Brushless Power system < FAD1301 >
Customized Motor for Airtitan: M60K/ Power 1500W
Testing static thrust: 5.5-6.0kg (6S, 15" Prop)
Propeller recommended: 15*6 / 15*7 ( Propeller not included )
ESC: Advanced 85A OPTO ( without Built-in BEC)
External UBEC: 5V/6A,5.5V/6A or 6V/6A (Switchable) input 2 - 6S

Battery
Recommend - 6S Lipo 10000 mah ( 7S or more cells lipo battery not advised)
Recommend - lower discharge rate battery(For example 10C or 5C is okay)
Lower discharge rate batteries will weigh less leading to longer flight times if in the
5C-10C range.

Customized Servo: < FAD1301 >

3PCS 6kg Torque/CM Metal gear servo (For Aileron and steerable landing gear)
1PCS 2.5kg Torque/CM Metal Gear Servo (Elevator)
2PCS 2.2kg Torque/CM Plastic Gear Servo (Rudder)
*Note: FAD1302 kit includes landing gear but without servo

*Note : 5S match15*8 Prop is okay if your flight weight is less than 5.5kg.
A 6S pack will however provide better power"
Flight weight of 5.5kg-6.0kg can meet most FPV requirements, and we recommend
less than 6.0kg for most FPV pilots
The heavier flight weight the better flying skills required.

CG (Center of Gravity):
The recommended CG is 205MM from the trailing edge of the main wings. You can
adjust that CG as needed but that is a good starting point.
For your Reference:
FPV tests have been conducted with a CG of 215MM from the trailing edge and flying
great while other testing has used CG of 190MM flying at a relatively slow speed with low
throttle and also worked well. Flying speed and runway needs can change optimal CG
positioning in ranges of 190-215mm CG settings.

Main wing installation Gluing should be done indoors and not under direct sun light or wind

Main wing Installation of left wing and right wing is the same

Take out the wing - cover

1
find the aileron extension wire .
( Wire Length : 600MM )
put it inside the wire groove
before closing Wing - cover .

Add glue to wing cavity

No need gluing to wing - cover
Don't let the glue build up inside too thick
The EPO glue can cause erosion
2
if there is too much glue.
Close the wing cover immediately
after gluing. Glue the covers one by one
and within 6 minutes for each

Press the wing - cover firmly

place it on a flat platform ( indoor )
D on't install to fuselage, fly,
or use it in 24 hours after the cover is installed
Generally the glue needs a 24 hour drying
period to ensure the glue has set.

Fuselage installation Gluing should be done indoors and not under direct sun light or wind

Fuselage Right - Half of fuselage

Take out the fuselage and tail-boom. Tail - boom

Add a moderate amount of glue to

the contact surface. Too much glue
can cause erosion in the foam.
Wait about 2 minutes after gluing.

Join tail-boom to fuselage

pressing firmly while positioning
correctly on a flat platform.
Left - Half of fuselage

*Note:
After joining the tail-boom to fuselage
it is recommended to wait 6 hours Tail - boom
for the glue to set before proceeding.

6 hours later *Note:

There are additional reinforcement modification notes.
Please skip to page16-17 before continuing.

Take out the tail-boom reinforcement parts and servo extension wire.
The 2 longest servo extensions are for the elevator and rudder.

- First put the extension wire through the tail as seen below
- Next add glue to the contact surface of fuselage and tail-boom
- Finally insert the reinforcement parts and press firmly ensuring the position is correct

Fuselage installation

Fuselage Preparations before closing fuselage

3
Take out 4PCS joint-parts
*Note: The bottom 2PCS
with built-in claw nut should be
correctly installed into the right
half of fuselage. Verify using
picture to be certain on those.

Test with long wing screws

to ensure they thread onto
the claw nut smoothly
before installation.

Insert the motor mount

into the right half of fuselage
being careful to note the correct position
of the claw nut for motor mounting.

Take out the front gear combo and

insert it into the fuselage

7
Fuselage installation

Fuselage
It's now time to join the two halves of fuselage.
If you have other wiring or modifications to add for the build run those through the
fuselage and tail-boom before closing the fuselage

*Note: Double check to ensure all parts are prepared and no parts are missing.
MAKE SURE to plan where you need glue before you begin!

Glue the right-half of fuselage, and other reinforcements parts that also need gluing
where the fuse halves meet. Make sure ample glue is across all points to be connected.

*Note: All gluing needs to be done at one time so make sure to move quickly
once starting as glue will dry fast. Gluing should be completed in about 8 minutes.

A little Glue on the joint parts is requried but don ' t flow to the nuts
( for the contact s urface only )

4
Glue on reinforcement parts is requried
( for the contact surface only )

Glue on front gear wood base

( don ' t glue on the aluminium axle )

Wrapping tape around

the joint point
Join both halves of fuselage immediately after gluing, press firmly and use clamps
or other tools like painters tape to secure it until glue has dried.
Generally with air-drying indoors the glue will set after a 24 hour period.

recommended

*Note: You will need a Y-cable

to connect the rudder and front
gear servo

In order to hold the screw firmly

screw off the nut and add a little
glue or Loctite on tip of screw
then screw on the nut
so it will be held firmly.

Be sure the servo fits into

servo bay properly and evenly.

Power on to test the

steerable landing gear
and ensure it is centered.

If it works well then you can

continue onto the next step

10
Fusealge wood base

Fuselage
There is a downward facing camera port here. Please ignore it if you do not plan to use
a downward facing camera. If you do plan to use a downward facing camera
please make sure to cut it out first before gluing it to the fuselage.

Fuselage wood base

Add glue to the wood base

and fit into the fuselage correctly.

Use the FINWING stock Velcro

hook and loop to stick to the
fuselage wooden base to hold
your battery, FPV gear, etc. into place.

Additional reinforcement

*Note: This is additional reinforcing to the rear landing gear that can be modified before
assembly. This reinforcement is not part of the original design but can be conducted
should you want to add extra reinforcement to your model.

Generally it will take about 15-20 minutes to make this modification.
