II. INTRODUCCIN

El etilbenceno es un lquido inflamable, incoloro, de olor
similar a la gasolina. Se le encuentra en productos naturales
tales como carbn y petrleo, como tambin en productos
de manufactura como tinturas, insecticidas y pinturas.
PROPIEDADES FSICAS
El uso principal del etilbenceno es para fabricar otro producto qumico, estireno y por la
polimerizacin de este, se obtiene el poliestireno, que sirve en la fabricacin de resinas,
plsticos y hules. Otros usos incluyen como solvente, en combustibles, y en la manufactura
de otros productos qumicos.

La mayora de los procesos de etilbenceno (EB) produce EB para consumo interno
dentro de un proceso acoplado que produce el monmero de estireno. La instalacin
descrita aqu produce 80.000 toneladas/ao de 99,8 % mol de EB que se consume
totalmente en una planta de estireno en el sitio. Como con la mayora instalaciones
EB/estireno, esto es una integracin significativa de calor entre las dos plantas. Con el fin
de separar la operacin de las dos plantas, la integracin energtica se logra mediante la
generacin y el consumo de vapor dentro de los dos procesos. La reaccin de EB es
exotrmica, por lo que se produce vapor, y la reaccin de estireno es endotrmica, por lo
que es la energa transferida en forma de vapor.

contienen todo el dietilbenceno y trazas de etilbenceno. Esta corriente es mezclada con
benceno reciclado y atraviesan la caldera (H-301) antes de ser enviada al cuarto reactor de
lecho empaquetado (R-304), en el cual el exceso de benceno reacciona con el dietilbenceno
para producir etilbenceno y benceno sin reaccionar. El efluente de este reactor es mezclado
con la corriente de lquido que entra a la caldera de recuperacin (E-303)

Para minimizar la produccin de estos dos productos anteriores la relacin mollar de

IX. CONCLUCION
Dado que el TIR y el VAN son mayores que los mnimos requeridos, el proyecto es
rentable.
La TABLA N37 nos dice que para llegar al punto de equilibrio se debe producir
y vender 10 702 toneladas por ao.
Se obtiene una diferencia de casi 4 millones en la inversin fija por los mtodos de
GRASS ROOTS COST y usando la tabla N4 del libro de PETER y en este caso se
trabaj con el de PETER debido a que es ms detallado y por ende puede estar ms
cerca al valor real.
