Introduction
The OBE Toolkit is an application to manage the configuration parameters and analysis of the AVLS
embedded equipment - Efacec Timekeeper.
This application is used by operators and maintenance personal with advanced knowledge in AVLS
systems.

Setup
Select from Portuguese, English, Spanish, French or Norwegian the language used in the installation
setup.
Warning: the language to use during the installation will be the same at the first time of the startup
application.
Close all other applications and click Next to proceed with the installation setup.
Warning: You must uninstall any previous version of the OBE Toolkit Application before install a new
one.
Select the target folder where the application will be installed and click next to continue the setup of
installation.

Select if you want to create a desktop shortcut icon for the application.
Check the options and then click install to begin the installation of the application.

Click Finish to close the installation setup. If you do not want to launch the application immediately do not
select the option to ' Launch OBE Toolkit

The application is located by default in the following folder structure: "C:\Program Files\OBE Toolkit" (can
be changed during installation).
The next table shows a brief description of each file installed in the application folder:

Login / Password
Login Application (User/Password)
As the profile that you use to login on the application you will access to the following options:
Profile

Software Update
Real-time Information
Force the clock setting (SNTP)
Test Sound File

After the correct login and discover of the equipments the the interface will be show like the following
picture (Menu Toolbar, Equipments, Events, Transfer windows and Status Bar)

Auto Search
Search automatically the equipments that are connected on the same network (LAN).

During the Auto search process wait for the complete reading of the equipments as the following figure.
Select the option ' Auto search Timeout ' to set the timeout value (seconds) to stop the find of the
equipments (2000 ms by default).
Select the option ' Search By IP Address ' to indicate the IP address you want to connect.
Warning: this option can be used when you have IP communications to the equipment but is not
available on the application equipment list.

Offline
Offline Options
Offline mode allows you to perform some operations without connection to the equipment.
Offline
Access to Menu options in offline mode of equipment (Passwords, Open configuration, log processor)

Languages
Select the flag icon to change the language of the OBE Toolkit application (Portuguese, English, French,
Spanish or Norwegian).
Attention: upon exiting the application will be saved the last selected language until you run again
the OBE Toolkit.

CB
On-board Computer operations (CB)
Select the equipment with the right button of the mouse to see the possible operations on the CB:

Select the option to change the IP address (LAN) and modify the current configuration of the CB (IP, mask
and Gateway). This option only takes effect after the reboot to the equipment (Reset CPU).

Select this option to start the instant download of Log files to a folder created with the IP address locally
(transfers)
If you select the timer should indicate the minimum interval between updates - at least 5minutes)
To finalize and cancel the timed download LOG files to the PC, select the equipment and remove the
selection in the the MenuBar.
Real-Time Information
To update the data from the equipment select the Refresh option with right mouse button.

Software Update
Select the folder with the localization files to update to the CB.
Change or Create a new parameter on the CB configuration selecting the field with right mouse button.

Attention: the option to create a new parameter in the CB may cause errors in the operation of
embedded applications.
Open and Save the current configuration to the local PC/laptop. Download and Unload the configuration
from/to the equipment.

Enter the desired Sound ID and click in the OK to send the playback order of this sound file in the
CB/vehicle.
Enter the tag code of the intended ID you want to simulate and click OK.

Simulate Odometer
Enter the desired value in meters and click OK to simulate the odometer reading.
Reset CPU
After you select the option to Reset the CPU it will appear the following message (the equipment starts the
Reboot controlled after 30 seconds).

Console
Operations in the Console
Selecting the equipment list right-click we can see possible carrying out operations on the console:

Select the option to change the IP address (LAN) and modify the current configuration of the Console (IP,
mask and Gateway). This option only takes effect after the reboot to the equipment.
Select this option to open a Telnet console window of the selected equipment.

Select this option to open the LCD of the console even if the cabin is not active.
When you download the configuration or open an existing file locally, a new window will be available with
the parameters of the equipment and, with the right mouse button, will be able to:

Selecting with the right mouse in the parameter it is possible to change or create a new item in the
Console.
Attention: the option to create a new entry under CB equipment or console may cause errors in the
operation of embedded applications.
Software Update
Select the folder with the localization files to update to the Console.
Attention: the option to close the active Console application causes the end of the connection to the
OBE Toolkit application, until the restore of the application on the console.

Events
Event window
In the event window will be recorded all the actions taken by the user during the use of the OBE Toolkit.
Attention: these events are not recorded in a Log file and will no be available after exiting the
application.

Transfers
Transfers window
Select the desired transfer and with the right mouse button open the respective folder file in the PC.
Check in the column ' State transfer "the possible States of the operation (OK, Pendant, NOK).
Select the desired transfer AND with the right mouse button open the respective folder of the downloaded
file in the PC or try again the transfer operation in case of failure.
