It was always a great dream of mine to live and study in a foreign country and I
am really exciting that it will become reality soon. with this letter, I would like
to describe myself. My name is Pocut Arifah Zahrina and i live in aceh, it is
located in Sumatra Island, Indonesia. I have one brother, actually three but 2
of them has passed away because of tsunami. My mom is a dentist and my dad
is a retired.

Im a 16 years old teenager who is taking the first step into the life as an
exchange student. Curently, i am in 11th grade in senior high school. I am
studying at Modal Bangsa Boarding School. Since i live in dormitory, i used to
do everything on my own because i dont spent that much time with my family.
But my parent always come to meet me every Thursday. I rarely hang out with
my friend. I am busy making tasks and homeworks from school. But its makes
me become more discipline and clever. And also, i learn to have teamwork
with my friend and it is really useful for me in the future. Actually in school im
not kind of student that have a genius mind and taking part of the first rank in
school but i am kind of student that have average marks and sometimes have
bad marks at montly exam. But im not taking it seriously because i believe that
someone sucess doesnt depend on their marks at school but it depends on
their skill and willingness to achieve the sucessful in the future.

I like going to school, because I am a friendly and sociable person, im not

distinguish people to be friend with. So, thats why i have many friends.
Sometimes i have problems with my friends, but i always apologize to them
although im not the one that makes the problem. Actually i have many
problem in school, such as, many tasks and homework that makes me dont
have time to sleep or play, tests and exam that came continously, and many
others that have relation with studying. But i always consult it to my family and
they always have many ways to amuse me and make me feel enjoy about
school. I feel so lucky to have family that always support me no matter what.
I have many hobbies and activities that i am interested. I like to sing many
song. Curently, Im taking part of choirs in my school called english voice.
English voice always performing their skills in front of every guess that come to
my school. And i am very proud of it. Not only that, i am interested to sport
too. I like to play basketball and now i am a member of my school basketball
team for girls. We are following competition in aceh in this month. I hope we
can win this competition because my school never have achievement in
competition of basketball for girl. I like drawing and painting too. Moreover, i
want to be an achictect, so that i always develop my ability in drawing in order
to chasing my dream in the future.

Having experience as an exchange student, after coming back to indonesia. I

would like to tell everyone all of the excellence of the country that i have gone
for this student exchange. And i hope there is youngsters that interest about
the student exchange program and follow my experience. For your
information, i follow the student exchange program, not only to have holiday
or to abscent from school. But i follow this because i want to develop my skill
in public speaking, to make me a person that is open minded, to make me
brave to speaking to people that i dont even know, to make me a person that
can do everything on my own, to learn about another nation culture, to learn a
new language of the coutry, and many others that useful for me and my
country.

I hope by joining this program, i will have much unforge ttable experience. I am
glad that i will be one of your family members, i hope you are happy to see me.
I am looking forward to meet you and spending good time with you. I wish you
