Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Students will research the life cycle of the butterfly using technology, textbooks and an actual butterfly. We
will talk about the life cycle of the butterfly, as a class and discuss the properties. I will introduce the SRT as
a review from the previous lessons. I will give students a brief explanation about Kahoot! and instruct them
to use ipads and computers to partake in the game.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain): Teacher
data

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: Students will be on either iPads or computers
to play the Kahoot! game. All students will participate. The teacher will be the one facilitating how fast the
game is played and who is participating. The activity will last approximately 15 min.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not?
I feel that it is important, for this lesson, for students to have immediate feedback to help them prepare for
their future assessments.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
We will review the answers, as a class, and discuss any misconseptions.
How will the data be used? This data will be used for the teachers purpose only. It will not be taken for a
grade but will serve as test prep for a future assessment. This data will help the teacher monitor the students
understanding and allow the teacher to alter future lessons if needed.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. My goal is to incorporate a technology rich game into
my lesson. I hope it allows students to reach full understanding of the life cycle of the butterfly and it shows
them what still needs to be reviewed.
