Comments:
Ms. Atchison made sure to stay positive throughout the lesson and communicated the learning objective at the beginning.

Intern uses available time for learning and keeps students on task.
Comments:
Ms. Atchison used a smartboard lesson previously created to introduce the lesson and task. She needed some assistance
with the management of time because of the amount of content and the 30 minute time frame.

Intern appropriately uses a variety of teaching styles.
Comments:
Ms. Atchison made sure to begin the lesson by connecting to what they know about money. She showed visuals to inspire
their thinking. She allowed them to talk to one another and share.

Intern ensures that all students have the opportunity to participate.

Ms. Atchison called on multiple students to participate. She asked questions and allowed them time for thinking and to
answer.

Comments:
Ms. Atchison communicated the learning outcome to the students. The lesson is one we have used in second grade over
many years and it aligns with the standards for second grade social studies.

Intern provides feedback on the correctness or incorrectness of in-class work to encourage student growth.
Intern affirms correct oral responses appropriately and moves on.
Intern provides sustaining feedback after an incorrect response by probing, repeating the question, giving a clue,

Comments:
Ms. Atchison assessed students with questioning and their responses. The assessment is also the design of money, if it
meets the expectations, and the outcome of the students voting.
