just simply as a refreshing drink for the whole family.

Make it Healthy!
The ingredients in a non alcoholic cocktail are often high in vitamins, fibre,
and antioxidants, to get the most from them follow these simple tips.
C
 hoose fruit juices that are not from concentrate, freshly squeezed
is best if possible .
C
 hoose 'Light' juices and those with no added sugar and look out
for sugar free cordials.
Keep fruit juices chilled.
Choose fresh fruit or tinned fruit in natural juices in recipes.
If you want to indulge yourself, or the children, as a treat use a
recipe for a non-alcoholic cocktail containing low-fat ice cream.
Opt for low fat milk, natural or low fat yoghurt in creamy recipes.
Its important to remember that some fruit juices may interact with
medication so if in doubt always check with a pharmacist.
Sparkler
Ingredients:
1 part orange juice
1 part pineapple juice
1 part grapefruit juice
1 part soda water
Crushed ice

Heres how to make it:


M ix the juices in a jug and then pour into a tall glass filled with ice.
Top up with soda water.

Beach Babe
Ingredients:
 0ml cranberry juice

90ml grape juice
Splash of soda water
Sliced lime

Heres how to make it:


P our the cranberry juice and grape juice into a tall glass, add ice
and a splash of soda water.
Add sliced lime.
Dark Sensation
Ingredients:
1 part passion fruit juice
1 part grapefruit juice
1 part guava juice
Crushed ice
Lime wedges

Heres how to make it:


M ix all of the ingredients together in a jug and pour over crushed
ice.
Serve in a tall glass garnished with a wedge of lime.

Fizz Bucks
Ingredients (equal parts of each):
O range juice
Ginger ale
Crushed ice

Heres how to make it:


F ill a jug with equal parts of orange juice and ginger ale, add
crushed ice and mix together till fizzy. Serve immediately in a glass.
Be careful when pouring as this will fizz!
Hurricane
Ingredients:
 parts orange juice
2
2 parts cranberry juice
1 part grapefruit juice
1 apple juice
Crushed ice
Orange slice

Heres how to make it:


M ix all the ingredients together in a jug then pour over crushed ice
in a tall glass.
To decorate try adding an orange slice to the rim of the glass.

Ugly Bug
Ingredients
1 part pineapple juice
1 part orange juice
1 part prune juice
1 part grapefruit juice

Heres how to make it:


M
 ix together in a jug, leave in the fridge until well chilled and serve
in wine glasses.
Cranberry Clown
Ingredients:
1 part orange juice
2 parts cranberry juice
1 part ginger ale
1/2 part clear lemonade
Crushed ice

Heres how to make it:


M ix the orange juice and cranberry juice in a jug.
Pour into a glass filled with crushed ice
Top up with ginger ale and lemonade.

Sweet Sunrise
Ingredients:
3 0ml freshly squeezed orange juice
Crushed ice
Slice of orange

Heres how to make it:


A dd the orange juice and crushed ice in a tall glass.
Add a slice of orange.
Pineapple Passion
Ingredients:
 parts pineapple juice

1 part passion fruit juice
Dash of lime juice
Ice

Heres how to make it:


A dd ice, pineapple juice, passion fruit juice and a dash of lime juice
in a jug and shake until well mixed.
Pour into tall glasses filled with a few ice cubes.

Banana Boat
Ingredients: serves 2
1 medium-sized mashed banana (save a slice for decoration)
60mls of semi-skimmed milk
20mls of pineapple juice
20mls coconut cream
Crushed ice

Heres how to make it:


M ix all the ingredients together in a blender or put them in a jug
and using a whisk or fork mix together until smooth.
Pour into glasses and decorate with a slice of banana.
Sunbeam
Ingredients
 parts ginger ale

1 part orange juice
1 part pineapple juice
1 part lemonade
Ice cubes
Slice of orange and lemon

Heres how to make it


P our the orange juice and pineapple juice, into a jug and mix
together. Place the jug in a fridge for 15 minutes until chilled.
When you are ready to serve, add the lemonade, ginger ale and ice
cubes.
Pour into glasses add slices of orange and lemon plus cocktail bits.
Strawberry Splash
Ingredients: serves 4
S mall can of strawberries in natural juice
150ml lime juice
300ml lemonade
6 fresh strawberries
2 slices of lime

Heres how to make it:


P ut the tin of strawberries and their juice into a blender and mix till
smooth. If you don't have a blender pour the tinned strawberries
and their juice into a jug and mash with a fork or potato masher
until smooth.
When smooth add the lemonade and the lime juice to the blender
or jug and mix until frothy.

 our into glasses and decorate with slices of lime and fresh
strawberries.
Make it Special
If you want to make your non-alcoholic cocktail extra special
try some of these optional tips:
S erve your non-alcoholic cocktails in colourful or unusually shaped
drinking glasses.
A
 dd colourful decorations - drink umbrellas, swizzle sticks, paper flowers
and colourful drink coasters.
A
 dd some colourful drinking straws - just cut them up for small drinking
glasses.
A
 dd crushed ice - No equipment necessary, just place ice cubes in a
plastic bag and crush the ice with a rolling pin.
U
 se cocktail sticks to twist or skewer slices of fruit to decorate the rim of
drinking glasses and add a twist to your classic alcohol-free cocktail.
T ake care when using cocktail sticks especially around young children.
Try using round edged coffee stirrers instead.

Alcohol - Limits for men and women


Men and women should not drink more than 14 units per week.
If you are pregnant or trying to conceive you shouldnt drink at all.
