 A. Introduction

Essay is a piece of writing that gives the authors own argument but the definition is
vague, overlapping with those of an article, a pamphlet, and a short story. Essay have
traditionally been sub-classified as formal and informal. Essay can be literary criticism, political
manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollection of the author. There are
some types of essay like process analysis essay.

Process analysis essay is a form of technical writing and expository writing designed to
convey to the reader how a change takes place through a series of stage.
 B. Discussion
1. Definition

Process analysis is an essay that explains how something is done, how something occurs
or how something works. In this kind of essay, the writer is required to present steps of a process
in a sequential order, from first to the last. All concepts or terms that might appear uncommon
are defined.

The creation of a professional essay requires a lot of knowledge form the writer, but the
first thing to know and to remember is the peculiarity of the essays structure. Each essay is
written according to a basic structure that does not change: introduction and the body followed
by a conclusion. The structure is the core of each paper that helps the writer to make a very well
founded written construct. In order to compose an essay accurately the way it should be it is
necessary to keep in mind the main hints concerning the contents of the essay structure elements.

2. Generic Structure Of Process Analysis Essay

There are some generic structures of process analysis, such as:
Introduction
- Introduction of any essay should be no longer than 1/10 of its length. If the
essay itself must be of a significant size, the introduction may have several
paragraphs; in the rest of the cases, it consists of one solid paragraph.
- The contents of an always introduction has a deductive nature, as it leads the
reader from the general views or positions on the analyzed topics to the
specific narrow theme of the essay.

necessary to prove the authors argument of the thesis statement.
- It is vital to keep in mind that each paragraph is supposed to have one main
argument to analyze and has to reveal it in one solid thought in a sentence
called the topic sentence. Therefore, the amount of the body paragraphs
equals the amount of topic sentences.
- Each body paragraph must be connected to following one with a logical
link.
Conclusion
- It is usually written in one solid paragraph.
- The conclusion always deals with summing up the essays arguments
revealed in the topic sentences and the therefore present substantial evidence
to prove the thesis statement.
- It is also important to mention the importance of the general conclusion of
the essay.
3. The characteristic of process analysis essay

Usually includes an Explicit Thesis Statement

Its mean that the writer should identify of the process which we want to discussed firstly
and in this case also we should give a reasons for the readers why this material is very
important for the readers and the readers also give a suggest about the writer attitude.

Organized in Chronological Order

In this case, the writer should give an explanation about what we write in the process
anlysis for the example, if we want to use the topic how to make a tea we should give
the readers explanation about how we can make a tea and give an explanation until the
readers understand.

Provides Background Info

In the process anlysis we should provide our background material, in order to make the
readers more interesting to read our process and also for completing what we do in
process.
 Describes Necessary Equipment

In this case we also should describe our equipment, why I say it? Because if we want to
make a process but the equipment not there, so our explanation cannot complete and it
makes the readers confused.

Appropriate Detail

In the appropriate detail, the writer should keep aligned with the intended audience, in
order the readers can understanding about what we do.

4. Purpose Of Process Analysis Essay

There is also purpose of analysis essay is the purpose of a process analysis essay is to
explain how to do something or how something works. In either case, the formula for a
process analysis essay remains the same. The process is articulated into clear, definitive
steps. Almost everything we do involves following a step-by-step process.

refrain from selecting a process that is so complex that you cannot cover the entire

essay, and the process is one in which you possess a level of expertise or can research and
teach easily.
Outline the Process Steps, is Once you've chosen your process, you need to list and
organize the steps. Be sure to include all preparation and clean-up steps, as they are still
part of the process. Outlining will help you make sure you haven't forgotten any steps,
and it will also give you an idea of how this process looks, step by step. For example, if
you are teaching the reader how to build a bookcase, you would combine multiple steps
that parallel one another, such as cutting all materials of the same length, so you can
spend more time explaining the details of how they should fit together.
Craft an Effective Introduction, is Just because you're writing a process analysis doesn't
mean you don't need to hook the reader or not state your thesis. Open your essay with a
 reason or anecdote that illustrates why your process is important and worthy of an essay.
Furthermore, your thesis statement for this paper is two-fold: you need to say what the
process is and list each step involved. Remember that no matter what the process is, you
cannot assume the reader has any prior knowledge of how to complete it.
Clarity Above All, is Your first priority in a process essay is to be clear about how to
complete each step. Use the second person point of view to keep your instructions direct.
Choose simpler words and sentences whenever possible, and if one step seems too
complicated for a simple explanation, break it into two steps to be sure your words cannot
be interpreted in any way other than what you intend.

First, you need a boat, but not just any boat. I recommend a 15-foot-long fiberglass boat
complete with a 25-horsepower motor, extra gas in a steel can, two 13 foot long wooden oars,
two steel anchors, and enough cushions for the entire party. You will also need scoops, crab
lines, a sturdy crate, and bait. Each crab line, made from heavy duty string, is attached to a weigh
and around each weigh is tied the bait- a slimy, smelly, and utterly grotesque chicken neck.

Now, Once the tide is low, you are ready to begin crabbing. Drop your lines overboard,
but not before you have tied them securely to the boat rail. Because crabs are sensitive to sudden
movement, the lines must be slowly lifted until the chicken neck are visible just below the
surface of the water. If you spy a crab nibbling the bait, snatch him up with a quick sweep of
your scoop.

The crab will be furious, snapping it claws and bubbling at the mouth. Drop the crab into
the wooden crate before it has a chance to get revenge. You should leave the crab brooding in the
crate as you make your way home.

Back in your kitchen, you will boil the crabs in a large pot until they turn a healthy shade
of orange. Just remember to keep the crab pot covered. Finally, spread newspapers over the
kitchen table, deposit the boiled crabs on the newspapers and enjoy the most delicious milk of
your life.
