(1) ICMR and Health Ministry launch Hypertension Management Initiative :

Indian Council of Medical Research and Union Ministry of Health Family Welfare launched India
Hypertension Management Initiative. India Hypertension Initiative aim to reduce disability and death
related with cardiovascular disease which is the leading cause of deaths in India. It also goal to
strengthen CVD part of Health Ministry's National Program for Cancer Control, Sugar, Cardiovascular
Diseases and Strokes.
The India Hypertension Management Initiative which is a project of ICMR, Ministry of Health Family
Welfare, World Health Organisation, State Governments and Resolve to save multiple lives. Its primary
aim is to reduce morbidity and mortality improve control of high blood pressure which is the main
risk factor among adults in India. Its focuses on ve important components of scalable treatment of
disease hypertension. It will focus on strengthening hypertension management monitoring it. It will
also support adoption of standardized simpli ed and various treatment plans for managing blood
pressures and other diseases. It also focus on data hypertension by monitoring system.

(2) India and United Kingdom MoU in Transport Sector :

India and United Kingdom soon sign MoU in Urban Transport Sector for cooperation in policy
planning, institutional organisation and technology transfer. The procedure of Memorandum of
Understanding nalised by the Union Minister of Road Highways and Transport Mr Nitin Gadkari and
Chris Grayling, Secretary of State for United Kingdom Transport in London.
The draft Memorandum of Understanding seeks to facilitate cooperation in Urban Transport Sector
between both the nations and enable sharing of expertise and technology to promote e cient
mobility solutions. It helps in improving various facilities in transport sector like customer care
service, information technology, data analysis. It will also help in promoting digital transactions and
inducing of high capacity diesel and electric vehicles in India.
Both the nations nalised bilateral agreements between Transport of London and Indian Military of

 Road Highways and Transport recently in May 2017 to cover range of transport mobility solutions and
associated activities.

(3) Sangai Festival(Manipur), 2017 :

The Famous Sangai Festival celebrated in the Northeastern State of Manipur. It is the tradition festival
of the state to promote the Manipur in various elds like art and culture, handicrafts, indigenous
sports, cuisine, handloom, adventure sports etc. The main focus area of festival will re ect the
Manipur's proud cultural units and love of art which is famous amongst various tribes inhabiting
state. Various dance forms like Ras Leela a classical dance form along with various other folk dance
performances like bamboo dance form, maibi dance, kabul naga form, lai haraoba dance form,
khamba thoibi form etc.
Sports like martial arts - Thang Ta combination Spear and Sword Skills, Yubi Lakpi, Sago Kangjei,
Modern Polo will be showcased festivals. The name of this festival after state animal, Sangai, a critical
endangered brow-antlered deer found in Manipur's Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is only floating
national park in the world. It was set up in 2010. It shows a rich tradition of Manipur in the world.

(4) Haryana becomes first state to treat Hepatitis-C :

The Indian state Haryana became rst state to treat Hepatitis -C patients in all categories through oral
medicines. This is for rst time, Haryana has included oral medicine in government hospitals and
medical centers. This medicine will be provided without any charges for permanent residents of all
categories. The treatment cost and medicine about Rs 29000 to 30000 in market, but government will
provide it free.
Hepatitis disease is a medical condition in which there occurs in ammation of liver cells and various
types of infection. There are ve types of hepatitis as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis D
and Hepatitis E. Each type caused by the di erent hepatitis virus mainly caused by the group of
viruses known as hepatitis viruses and also caused by the intoxicants like alcohal, drugs, chemicals
and other infections, autoimmune disease. Disease mostly caused through infection, blades used by
the barbers responsible for this.
